Downloading 'Say You Will' from Warner's
I did not download 'Peacekeeper' but last night I decided to download 'Say You Will.' I mean I was not all put out by $1.49. But to my dismay, after downloading it, I cannot get it to play on Window's Media Player or Winamp. I also can't get it to burn off my EZ CD Creator 5. Anyone else have this problem or have a solution for me?
Thanks!! Randy

You probably need to update Windows Media Player to play copy protected content. The SYW single download is in wma format which has built in copy protection (a.k.a. DRM - Digital Rights Management) which can be turned on by the owner. I think there is an option (under preferences) to automatically download the license for copy protected content.
I just converted the wma file to wav using Easy CD Creator 6 too. I'll bet a future update will "block" Easy CD Creator 6 from converting the wma file with drm turned on. Same with MusicMatch. I tried a couple of editing programs, Cool Edit Pro 2.0 and Soundforge 6. Both displayed a pop up box saying the content was copy protected and would not open the SYW file because of DRM. Microsoft threatened to sue Winamp many moons ago (maybe around v2.6 or 2.7) because they had put in a feature to convert wma files to other audio formats. The next release after had it taken out. Ok, I got it to work on Window's Media. You do have to make sure your licence thingy is turned on. Look under properties and click the privacy tab. There is an option for automatically checking for licence approval. It is wise to check the box while connected to the internet, If it is already checked and it is not working, uncheck it and check it again whil connected.
I can also burn it onto a cd from WMP v 9... Thanks for the help guys!! Randy
