Default "Storms" and "SOTM" Demos

Has everyone heard this? I was just listening to a c.d. of F.M. demos (that I haven't heard in a while) and was blown away (again) by how different the final cut sounds as opposed to the demo, I guess it's just testament to Lindsey's magical studio ability-- he totally transformed that song into the masterpiece that it is. Wow...

However, I think the "Sisters of The Moon" demo is pretty damn good, I'm almost inclined to say better than the final version but I don't know if I'll go that far. I got chills up my spine listening to it and I would LOVE to hear Stevie do a piano only version of that song sometime in the future (but of course I'm not holding my breath).

Any thoughts?

I LOOOOVE those two piano demos. I don't know if there is more than one version of each, but I love the SOTM demo when she's like "pretty weird, huh?" at the end. That version made me bawl the first time I heard it. It's so beautiful!!

I think the two piano demos we are talking about are far superior to the final cut on Tusk, which I am not that fond of (Sorry Linds ). I think the album cut just lays there flat and has no personality, esp. when compared to the two demos and the Mirage and Tusk tour officially taped performaces. Also, it was just a huge mistake to omit the lyrics on the album cut.

Note: all of Stevie's piano demos are written that way - that is why I like almost all of them.

I love the Wall of Sound demo version of Storms with the belting vocals & heavy bass & exploding drum sound. Okay, I'm totally making that up, but maybe I had some of you going. The truth is I've never heard a demo of Storms.
Stevie's vocal on the SOTM demo is excellent. And I love all the demos of songs with her on piano. They all seem to fit together. I'm trying to remember if the demo has the Choices verse that gets done in concert. It's my favorite verse, and I hate that the album version doesn't have it.

I just think that is one instance where the younger La Nicks should have said "fine - you want the song with less lyrics - NO - I'm keeping it for my upcoming but still clandestine solo career!!"

Or, she could have, a la the insiration for it I believe suggested about a year ago by the multi-talented Carne Vaca, re-titled it "I like my Eggs before Noon!"

I have heard two piano demos of SOTM, and I love both.

I do think I prefer the album version of Storms, although I do really like the extra long demo of Storms (11 minutes - Stevie just keeps repeating). That long demo of Storms reminds me of the long version of Silver Springs.
