Yeah, it does have that '80s excess feel to it. Then again, so does The Other Side of the Mirror, to a certain extent.

There is certainly a connection with his Mirage songs. But the overshadowing by OOTC does not appear for me. In essence, the productionstyle of GI fits with the content. On OOTC, I constantly miss Mick & John. The syndrums irritate me on OOTC, where I totally adore them on GI. Weird huh? or not?

Not weird, OOTC doesn't have the warmth and brevity of Go Insane.

Well... true. And I guess it all depends on what you're looking for as a listener. I don't think brevity is as important as, let's say, being heartfelt. And in the case of OOTC, being heartfelt and a little more profound. Mind you, I'm not hating on Go Insane.
