It's too bad I didn't get the whole show...only got about the first half. From recall, I think that was THE best show I'd seen from the "fireflies" incarnation, before or since. (even Buckingham's "Oh Well" didn't bother me that night!)

I actually don't dislike anything about the Live album except for a few ommissions (The Chain, Sisters, GDW). However, one glaring mistake imo is rerecording most of the vocals on Sara. That, to me, is sacrilegious. I never could stand it and rarely listen to it. It's the Tusk tour doc performance but she recorded a new vocal. Shoulda kept the original. Just sayin.... |

The 1980 Live has a bunch of material from 1977: Monday Morning, Say You Love Me, Dreams, Over My Head, Rhiannon, and Don't Stop—and Don't Let Me Down Again might be from 1976 or '75. There's also a beautiful Never Going Back Again, my favorite track on the album. It's the 1980 performances of that song which mark the birth of the "modern" Lindsey, to my ears—stretching the sinewy vocal lines, elongating a bit here, pushing a bit there, driving a rhythm home despite deliberate fits and starts that make the crowd wonder which downbeat to clap with.
