Damn, I missed round 2. Didn't seem to matter though, I would have voted off Family Man too. Now I believe it's time to unwelcome Sara from the room. It's not your home, and it's not, whatever that word she sings...Tara?

[QUOTE=Johnny Stew]I don't hate it... it's a cool little song, and I enjoy it immensely. But I don't see it as being strong enough for album inclusion. I mean, for being 4:23 in length, it doesn't have much going on:

I love Ricky. It's one of those cool Lindsey produced songs. I love it.

In my hard work of trying to get "Family Man" out of this survivor thing I hadn't read your post carefully, and I must say that I REALLY agree with you. I don't consider "Silver Springs" to be overrated (mind you, it's one of my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs), but like you, I think it just wasn't on Rumours. The fact that the band has been telling us almost all the time that it actually "should have been" probably reflects the quality of the song, the value of it in time, the way it touched so many people... If it would've been in Rumours it could've been one of its greatest songs. But it just wasn't. And its insertion in these reissue things should just be seen as a 'bonus track' addition even if it's in the middle of the CD. JMHO of course.

Oh yes, this round I will vote for You And I, Part II

Folks are bound and determined to vote off all of Stevie's songs first. Not just "When I See You Again" and "Welcome To The Room... Sara," but votes against "Seven Wonders," too???

Sad state of affairs.

My vote: "You And I, Part 2"
I shall always love you for one of the best Mac lyrics: "keep your heart open and your eyes shut tight... what will be, will be"... but that's about all you have going for you. So, bye-bye.

I get that it's a "purist" thing. When the album was released in 1977, that song wasn't included in the track-listing, so a lot of people view it as an interloper.
It makes sense (although I don't see it as the major problem other fans seem to see it as).

What I'd like to know, though, is how well "Silver Springs" would do in a Survivor-type setting, if it HAD been included on 'Rumours' all along. And I have a feeling it might end up being the number one song, or the runner-up (behind "The Chain").

I'm voting for You And I Part II. I prefer it to some of the others, but I'm thinking strategy.
