Default Fleetwood Mac Live 75, Who's the New Girl? - Restored/Torrent

Fleetwood Mac
Who's the New Girl?
Restored by Galemark

http://www.dimeadozen.org/torrents-d....php?id=143284

Trodd Nossel Studios
Wallingford, CT
September 23, 1975

I got this great concert at another torrent site (thanks to lvdeadhead for the up) and was floored.
The sound was much clearer than previous MP3 versions I had heard. That said, the tape still had major problems.
It sounded as if it were culled from at least two different sources
(later seeing the wavs virtually proved this) so my first mission was to match EQ curves.
Secondly, there were several dropouts and/or distortions that I repaired/minimized. I also used minimal NR in some spots.
Last but not least the track separations were quite bad, some even with repetition of several seconds of sound,
so I cleaned those up. I hope you enjoy my efforts.

Station Man - 6:14
Spare me a Little - 4:52
Rhiannon - 6:39
Why - 4:10
Landslide - 3:38
Over My Head - 3:06
I'm So Afraid - 5:02
Oh Well - 2:57
Green Manalishi - 5:46
World Turning - 8:40
Blue Letter - 3:59
Hypnotized - 7:06

One of the very first Mac concerts with Lindsay Buckingham & Stevie Nicks,
it provides a rare opportunity to hear the new lineup perform such classics as “Hypnotized”, “Spare Me a Little” and “Why”.
The latter especially comes to life with Buckingham at the helm.
This performance comes from the very short period where they played older FM tunes out of necessity rather than as an homage.

If you have a better copy of this classic show than the one presented here, please email galemark (at) excite (dot) com.

Based on the mp3 sample, it's a much better source than the one commonly available. It also has the Grateful Dead, JJ Walker, Jimmy Buffet and Jackson Browne sets so you better tweak your BT client if you don't want to download all 2,76 Gb.

Seems like the song naming bug has struck again.

Fleetwood Mac - King Biscuit Flower Hour (1990)
Capital Theatre
Passaic, New Jersey
17 October 1975
Great sound!

Linege: Broadcast CD--> Wavelab-->FLAC(level 6)-->Dime

1. Station Man
2. Spare Me A Little
3. Rhiannon
4. Landslide
5. I'm So Afraid
6. World Turning
7. Don't You Let Me Down
8. Hypnotized

Enjoy!

This is an awesome early recording of Fleetwood Mac from 1975 with new bandmates Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. You can hear them introducing songs from their just released "White" album. Here they are, just before becoming the superstars we know today, opening for Procol Harem. The band's excitement is evident throughout, especially on "World Turning". Lindsey sings on "Hypnotized", probably their biggest hit at that point. This is my first upload, so be patient.
Recording taken from a "King Biscuit" broadcast CD sent to radio stations for airing during the week of 4-30-1990, all commercials have been edited out.

I would like to dedicate this release in the loving memory of Annaconda69, she was internet
friend that had a kindness and personality that was unmatched and surely is missed. She passed
away right around early July of 2007, cancer took her away from us but, they say you can hear music when
you reach heaven and Anna, this one here is for you ! One of her favorite artists was Stevie Nicks, now,
you don't need me to tell you that Stevie is one lady of rock that can take rock'n'roll by it's horns
like a bull and deliver a solid performance & with showmanship. Especially the way the band is playing tonight.
I really like the rhythm section, the drums, the percussion is truly exceptional. To be truly honest
with you I don't have full knowledge of Stevie's entire music catalog, just the popular songs,
and truth be known I barely did anything to this recording, except expand the mid range to
bring out the vocals more and then normalized. So, never the less and spare no expense !
Let me bring to you a recording that I believe your going to enjoy having in your collection.
Thanks to the taper he was standing in the seventh row when he recorded
this along with his girlfriend in which he told me he wished he had never brought along because
he claimed he was surrounded by; "HOT LOOKING CHICKS" ! at the show. I know the taper had a guilty conscience
because during this show he made some promises to quite a few of young ladies a copy of the show.
Well, ladies, ( and dudes too ) if your out there in broad band cyber space, you can pick up your copy of this
show right here on Dime for the first time ! lol ! Lastly, your going love the artwork that was provided by
Eric and as always a special thanks is extended out to him for his artistic wizardry.
Let It Rip Productions have always been put out via free trade.
Enjoy !
John

I am shocked and saddened to hear of Anna's passing. May she rest in peace.

I couldnt find this date appearing here before but maybe I missed it, the most commonly circulated date from the Japanese leg of the Rumors tour seems to be the December 5th Tokyo due to the availability on video.
Here we have the night before the Tokyo show in Osaka and another outstanding recording. This one came from the same trader I got the Dire Straits show from I posted earlier.
On etree this one is labeled as Festival Hall but the Japanese trader I got it from labeled the tape as Expo Hall so that is what Im going with here.

A very subtle lift between 500hz-2khz really brought this one to life.

Its excellent quality and a great performance that I dont think even the casual fan of the Rumors era Mac should do without.

Samples below

Enjoy!

*For the Menu I used a version of Landslide from Trodd Nossel Studios
Wallingford, CT 9/25/75

This show has been floating around for years in two forms.

The older version has always been poor quality both in sound and picture.

The second one appeared about 6 years ago and was obtained
from a stock footage house, which one I'm not sure. I've owned the first one since the late 80's. I got a copy of the second version about 6 years
ago when I borrowed a copy from a friend and converted it to DVD.

He said his copy came from the person who got it from the stock footage house.

Which means his copy was two generations away from the master, assuming the stock footage house has the master. Anyway you look at it was a major upgrade to the copy that had been floating around.

Now for the bad news, being this comes from a stock footage house this video is branded with the "For Screening Only" tag. Although this sucks its
not as bad as you think. Its not really that distracting and is worth
overlooking since the quality upgrade is so high. So until someone comes
up with a version without the branding this is the best copy you'll see.

Between Station Man and Spare me a Little there is a beeping tone for about
ten seconds and then Spare me a little fades in very little to no music is missed.

Also the end of hypnotized is cut, maybe 1 0r 2 seconds of music is lost.(This
is the same on both copies of this show that I own)

As for the show itself its top flight. A nice rare glimps into Fleetwood Mac
at the begining of the Buckingham/Nicks era. Although this is my least
favorite version of Fleetwood Mac up to this point you can see that Stevie and Lindsey breathed new life into the band after all of the turmoil of 1974.

Enjoy!

Trade Freely and Do Not Sell this Video!

According to the Westwood One announcer (J.J.Jackson), this show occurred in "August 1997". However, according to my research, Fleetwood Mac played at Irvine for three nights in October 1997. Any clarification would be welcomed.

Finally, I did not include the numerous advertisement-only tracks at the end of disc 2. However, I did include the show promo(D2 T4). Once again, please SUPPORT the musicians and ENJOY.

Brian, this is the one I was always looking for the radio station CDs of. I think this "full" version was broadcast only once -- the first time in early 1998. On subsequent broadcasts of this concert, the track list was cut. I have the Superstars CDs from a subsequent broadcast, & songs like OH DADDY & TEMPORARY ONE are cut.

Did you tell the taper that, yes, it was recorded in October?
