My fave lines:

"Every night that goes between, I feel a little less..."

"Wait a minute baby, stay with me awhile..."

"Intense silence, as she walks in the room..."
(I always thought this was the coolest first line to a song...very intense )

"And the summer became the fall, I was not ready for the winter..."

Kristin

p.s. Michelle....isn't the first line to Think About It....."Step into the velvet of the morning..."?? lol...or is just me....lol.

Loving you, isn't the right thing to do... <--that line sets the tone for the most awsome rock and roll...go and kiss my ass song ever! A great song anytime, but even better after a breakup!

Can you understand me, baby don't you hand me a line...

I wake up with my eyes shut tight...

It's not home...and it's not Tara... <--okay I'm kidding...

We all have our fave openings, like Gypsy, but what about great lines period!

"No one knows how i feel, what I say unless you read between my lines" Stand Back

"Sometimes to be near you is to be unable to hear you...my love"
Edge of Seventeen

"I bite my lip, can you send me away...You touch, I have no choice...I have to stay" Beautiful Child

"Hold on the night is coming and the starling flew for days"
Sara

"She is dancing away from you now...she was just a wish...she was just a wish" Gypsy

"Intense silence as she walked in the room" Sisters of the Moon

"What I seem to touch these days has turned to gold, what I seem to want well you know I find a way" After the Glitter Fades

"And your sorrows left you there right before the lights came up"
The Second Time

Definitely "listen to the wind blow, watch the sunrise" is my fave.

Some others would be: "you can take me to the paradise"; "I know there's nothing to say"; "intense silence as she walks in the room"; "step into the velvet of the morning"; "you look at me with those brown eyes"... and many many many more.

Song of the moment - Over & Over (live version)

You know what I love are the really good visuals that Stevie's songs provide....I don't know about you guys but certain songs produce these specific visuals in my mind....one in particular is Sisters of the Moon....such good descriptive, but short and to the point lines:

"Intense silence as she walks in the room, her black robes trailing, sister of the moon..."

Another song like that for me is Crystal:

"Drove me thru the mountains, thru the crystal-like clear water fountain...drove me like a magnet, to the sea..."

And Gypsy:

"So I'm back, to the velvet underground, back to the floor, that I love...to a room with some lace and paper flowers..."

And Gate and Garden:

"There is a gate, it can be guarded...well it is not heaven, and it has a garden...so to the red rose, grows the passion..."

And finally Fall From Grace:

"I choose to be his confidant and to keep him from the fire...I choose to be quietly discreet if that is his desire...I touch with gossamer wings to be quiet around you..."

All of these songs give such good strong visuals for me...really powerful lines.

Well i gotta go back and address this whole Velvet Underground thing again, sorry.

I KNOW it isn't JUST about the store. I know it a bout the whole San Fran scene, but I guess I just see her as connecting alot to "the place where the images are born" you know?

Also, NEVER underestimate the power of a really terrific shopping trip and what that means to woman!
LOL!!

We really were just saying the same thing, just from a little bit different perspective.

I have too many fav lines to list, and most of them are already here anyway.
