Last night was pretty boring, so thank God they decided to only make it an hour. I wasn't too upset to see anyone go, but I did like Jory (part of the very first line of 6 girls - all of who immediately got cut.) So glad that bitchy flirty girl got the boot. She was nasty - not gross looking, but literally nasty. When she got through the group session & shrugged, rolled her eyes, got cocky & said "what can I say, God likes good people" I snorted. Oh well, she's gone now - guess she wasn't as good as she thought she was. Mwaahhahahahahahaha.

Love that curly haired guy got in, his was the only group who did anything different & original to their performance - they did "How Deep is Your Love" and actually managed to make it relatively hip.

BTW - some new Paula nonsense:

http://www.cnn.com/2007/SHOWBIZ/TV/0....ap/index.html

Quote:
NEW YORK (AP) -- Paula Abdul's spacy behavior on "American Idol" has prompted many to ponder if there's a tumbler or two of booze in that red cup on the table in front of her on the Fox talent contest.

That's nonsense, the 44-year-old "Idol" judge tells Us Weekly magazine in its February 16 issue. "I've never been drunk. I have never done recreational drugs," she says. "Just look at my 20-year career. Tell me someone who is into partying or doing drugs that could have done that."

In her five years on "Idol," Abdul -- a singer and a movie, TV and stage choreographer -- has weathered criticism about her sometimes odd behavior, which has included slurred and garbled speech, and her not-so-subtle gushing over the show's young, male singers.

"There have been 100 million lies about me," says Abdul, who has said she's taken prescription medication for health problems, including inflammatory arthritis. "I'm squeaky clean. I've worked my ass off my entire life. (But) being involved in the show causes people to question everything."

Last year, Fox announced that Abdul signed a deal to put up with Simon Cowell -- oh, and judge, too -- on "Idol" through 2008.

"I have never missed a live show," Abdul notes. "Even when I had surgery on my hand (for an infection caused by a botched manicure in 2004), I left my hospital bed to go to the show."
Um....ever hear of Stevie Nicks, Paula? And most bands/artists that came out of the 60's & 70's?

^^^
did anyone catch Paula on QVC earlier this week? she was just as spacey. she'd start a sentence and then couldn't get it out so she'd throw her hands up and just stop. the host had to pick it up. it has sad/hilarious.

It's all about the marketing.

The were the best part of the whole show, I thought.

I agree. So far, there is no one that I'm really into. I hoping after they announce the top 24 some contestants will start to stand out.

I watched it, of course. I was pretty surprised that they put some people through, because seeing their auditions did not impress me. I was equally shocked that they dumped a few - actually, the last 2 girls AND 2 guys, I thought sure the judges would send the other person home. But what do I know; apparently forgetting your lyrics several times to more that 1 song, and singing out of tune will get you through.

Next few weeks are Idol hell - 5 hours total per week. 2 hours Tues, 2 hours Wed, then the dragged out 1 hour results show on Thurs.

Yup. For the next 3 weeks, here's how it plays out:

All girls sing on Tuesday night for 2 hours; we vote.

All guys sing on Wednesday night for 2 hours; we vote.

The 2 girls & 2 guys with the lowest votes get booted every Thursday until they're down to 6 girls & 6 guys.

Yeah, I like Chris (JT guy) but he was off tonight. I'm glad Beatbox Guy ... didn't. If I have to suffer thru a season of that crap, I won't be happy. Even the Fat Boys stopped BBing after it got old ... 20+ years ago ... and one of their members was named The Human Beat Box.

Sundance? it's ok, I don't know all their names either.

I really was hoping he did well, but I think nerves got the best of him. nerves are evil and they ought to be destroyed. they can turn the best performer into a bucket of poo in a matter of seconds.

Beatbox boy and the Justin guy were my favs too although no one blew me away. I hope the girls are better tonight.

I didn't think Paula looked good at all. Her hair is too light and messy looking now.
