Char & Mish
Charlotte had feelings for Missy. They also both liked playing & running together.

This is Sasha, my ex-partner's dog who lived with us for years. I took a job in NYC and insisted that we had to move there in order that I not suffer the long commute. Having a dog in NYC just is such a dificult thing, although people do have them. I just couldn't see her cooped up all day in an apartment and then only get to go outside on a leash for short walks. She was 17 years old, and going blind and most likely deaf. Getting incontinent, slept all day and was getting extremely nervous- even getting snappy. It was a tough decision, but I felt it needed to be made. We took her to the vet, and he put her to sleep. Her head was in my arms, and my ex had his arm around her body. The IV simply made her shut her eyes, and it was done. I don't think I had ever seen my partner in such agony.

And I have to live with that for the rest of my life.

As a dog lover/owner I can feel your pain. But you did the right thing. You said so yourself that she was deteriorating. As much as we hate to say that final good-bye to our pets we have to do the humane thing, which you did. She would have been traumatized by the move and her new surroundings, not to mention all her health issues. I have two older dogs 13 & 15 and I dread losing them. And as much as I'd like to hang onto them forever, I'm aware the time may soon come where I have to make that very difficult decision. Sasha was a beautiful dog and I'm sure had a wonderful life. I believe she's still w you in spirit.

Description: This lion was raised by these two guys until the government said it was too old to be kept in a domestic area and was sent to a wildlife reserve. It had been over a year and experts said the lion will have no recollection of them.
