I know at this point you think you know everything, but a "sad nostalgia act" doesn't sell out arenas like they are doing right now. Their relevance is all around in music currently as well. Take a f***ing chill pill.

You'd get likely 6 new songs added to the set list (which might rotate over the course of different legs of a tour). What you'd lose out on would be any "deep tracks" from previous albums.

I think we'll see Stevie do a second volume of Vault songs in late 2015/early 2016. She will also have handed some songs over to Lindsey to work on. She will then do a medium sized tour to promote both albums. Towards the third/ last quarter of 2016, she will come in and finish her stuff on the FM album. They will tour behind the album most of 2017 ~ the group's 50th anniversary ~ then call it quits.

since they've been talking about this 2-year interval before the new album/tour all of the sudden, i'd be more than happy with your plan as long as Lindsey spends the same timeframe (end of 2015/16) putting out new solo album and touring behind it.

he has way too much new material recorded already for this forever-never-coming-out FM album. he can use his 8 co-writes with Chris for FM, and songs he recorded with Mick and John in 2012 for solo plus add some new ones (which should be easy with how prolific he's been!) and self-release all that in 2016. good thing about this - we'd finally get to hear all those songs. of course for diehard LB fans, bad thing about those songs is that from what LB said about them they are "fleetwood mac-y" and not solo lindseyesque.

bad thing about all this of course is that we will have to wait at least 3 years (starting fr om 2014) for those Chris-Lindsey co-writes. but i guess we have to cut our losses somewhere.

I hope any 50th anniversary celebrations/releases include remastered editions of Mirage and TITN. If not, I'll be finally convinced that we'll never see them.

Or they can give us Rumours on Bluray/3D...

I think things would have been totally different if they had signed to Interscope for Say You Will. WB is happy to coast on catalog sales.. Interscope probably would have hooked them up with a trendy music video director and really pushed it. Interscope would have WANTED the new record to sell, WB just did those pathetic "live" videos. To think at their level of wealth and stardom, to sell out fresh energy for a bigger advance was just sad to me.

Rocket Science It's the same difference. This coming Christmas is the next Christmas.

Yes, each with bonus discs packed with b-sides, outtakes, demos and live songs. Those albums are a significant part of their legacy, and they are still commercially viable. They deserve the same treatment given to their self-titled album, Rumours and Tusk. I'd also include their LIVE album.

Default Fleetwood Mac Already Back in the Studio?

I think this deserves it's own post.

Just as Fleetwood Mac starts their break in between legs of their world tour, Mick has posted a pic from inside the studio! Are they already back to work on this elusive new album? Or just a coincidence?

"That creates the magic, and that's the wonderment of the musical process and how precious that is.”

I don't think it's a coincidence at all- Mick's Instagram pictures seem to be posted pretty contemporaneously. So his uploading that picture and the associated caption tells me he's in the studio now on official business.

Count me as VERY surprised- I expected these folks to take R&R vacations during this month off.

Interesting that Mick posts on the same day that WB announces a "Crystal Visions" re issue...

So Mick I guess some members of Fleetwood Mac have resumed work on that album that may or may not come as a Fleetwood Mac album? Right?...

I'm happy about this pic but his last M&G comments left a bad taste in my mouth...
