I was thinking that Jenny Boyd looked a bit like Stevie. So, maybe Mick was only drawn to Stevie because she reminded him of Jenny! Well, he still had Jenny at the time, so that doesn't make much sense, but .

I stood almost right in front of Stevie (felt unreal to be that close) and during her little speech before Gypsy I remember thinking; oh how sweet, she's lisping a little.
Now I'm wondering, did I misheard or does she lisp?!

It sometimes sounds like it in early interviews too, but I could be wrong..?

I think she lisps. I also think she pronounces her "r" as "w" sometimes. Hey, Elmer Fudd is sexy.

Yeah, her "r" isn't "r", lol Sometimes in songs it's clearer

Well, admittedly it's difficult to pronounce "San Francisco" without sounding a bit slurry on the sibilant consonants. Or the clusterf*** of alliteration "...sings a song, sounds like she's singin'." I think, if anything, she's got a bit of a lazy "R." Seven wondahs. Blue Wattuh. Give to me yo-ah leathah. Sistah of the Moon. No spoken wood.

Just checked out some interviews on youtube and yes, she lisps. That is SO cute!

She isn't very good at any sort of sound that needs enunciation, though, i.e. "protection" in Dance version Sweet Girl. To these ears, it always sounds like she's singing "protession" and then I go to "procession" and then I'm at a funeral and an Emily Dickinson poem...which is all a lot more interesting than most of the lyrics to Sweet Girl, so in a way, I'm glad she can't say it!

I've always had a theory that a big part of her dislike for stage talk and her stage fright comes from insecurity about what I think is a slight speech impediment.

But she'll talk her head off on stage sometimes. Michele

She will or coke will for her?

I can't think of a show where she's spoken on stage for any length of time without a plethora of "um"s "and so's" or that weird measured voice she uses to keep herself on pace being thrown in...or without fact errors when she's trying to get a story out.

Although, I must confess, these always make me smile because I sometimes get oddly nervous when talking to people myself (ledgies, you better hold my secrets near and dear to your heart), and I'll often find words coming out of my mouth that I know are wrong. I just keep going, though, for fear that if I stop, I'll never start again.

Her major in college was speech communications.

If it's a lie, it's her's, not mine. She's given shoddy numbers over the years around her college career/the start of her and Lindsey's relationship, but she's definitely cited a five year spread.
