Clinton never raped anyone.

That we know of Didn't you see Primary Colors ? If it is to be believed, I believe that having sex with an underage girl is statutory rape

Interestingly, Clinton was a flat out liar about IMO small stuff like this. Despite this character flaw, I'd vote for him in a second because on the larger issues, he was genius

We aren't fighting this ridiculous war for our country, doll. We're fighting it to make campaign contributers happy and to make the oil flow smoothly through Halliburtons machinery.

Sorry, but the rationale people use to support this war is pathetic. Just like when they bitched and moaned about the Dixie Chicks saying what they said. "Our men died to give them the right to say those things!" they all cried. Yeah, and because they died for those freedoms, we shouldn't use them during wartime? Puhlease.

If we all just decided to "go peace" we would be attacked and no longer be the US. I am grateful we have men and women who will defend us. It is one of our greatest blessings. We' d be in deep **** otherwise......

You're exactly right. That is why everyone should keep this in mind when casting their vote:

But clearly there is more to this than "he's a deserter" as asserted by many high in the DNC. Serving in the National Guard was valid. Moreover, even if he got leave to go work on that campaign, if the NG gave him leave to do so, he broke no rules. In the end, I say this is a dead issue because although there are titilating facts that can be spun to make make W look bad, in the end, the testimony of the guy in AL is not that reliable because that guy admitted he was not there all of the time and the NG was satisfied with his performace and that is hard to rebut 30 years later

Why won't Bush release his records? Why wouldn't he take the physical? Where's his DD-214?

Jason, he's a draft-dodger, plain and simple. And he has a year of his "service" unaccounted for. Spin it however you want, he won't tell us what happened and that shows that he's hiding something. Just like when he refused to answer questions about his cocaine use.

I agree - but that was a long time ago. People will not really care about that. I think instead, they will buy the "Well his performance was good enough for his superiors" argument.

I mean what other facts are there that can refute that NG's conclusion. Moreover, the NG could release his service record in some sort of investigation, which will never happen.

So, in the end, I say there are more plausible current issues that the opposition can hold his feet to the fire on.

Also, I think in the back of a lot of peoples' minds in the thought of "I don't blame him, I would have done the same thing"

I'm sure most of our veterans don't think that way. Especially now that he's cut their benefits to a new low.

True. I was just responding to t.c.'s comment about the importance of military service.
