Well was the choice between every former member of Fleetwood Mac or the two most iconic incarnations or the Rumours lineup or arbitrary?

I think every former member should have been inducted.

However if the choice was between the two most iconic and an arbitrary selection, then they made the right choice.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

In 1998 she was deep in her "burning bridges" phase- she was divorcing her husband who apparently ran around on her, she was quitting the band she'd been a member of for nearly 30 years, she was selling the house she'd lived in for 20+ years, and leaving the country she'd lived in for 3 decades. It's safe to say she was making very emotional, possibly irrational decisions. I can see how Bob's suing the band for royalties would seem like yet another betrayal she needed to mow down.
I tend to agree with this. I wish Bob would have been inducted, as he was deserving, and it clearly meant a lot to him. As far as Christine blocking him, I actually don't think it was just her. I don't think Lindsey and Stevie cared one way or the other, but I think the other three did. When John was asked about it on one of the Q&As here, he didn't have much comment other than "Maybe Bob should have, but then what do you do about Mason/Vito/et al.?"

She was definitely pissed at him. You can see this in THE DANCE rehearsal interview with the Rumous lineup. Mick made a passing comment about Bob leaving in 1974, "out of nowhere." Christine bristled and challenged it. John summarized, "The writing was on the wall," and Christine repeated John's comment. Her tone was withering. Everyone else looked ahead at the camera as neutrally as possible, as if some very uncomfortable moment had just bubbled up and they preferred to pretend it didn't.

Still, I'm not really sure how much of a hand Christine played in Bob being snubbed by the RARHAF. She may have said, "No way...absolutely not." But I doubt she was alone. Nor do I imagine anyone on the committee or within the band were willing to fight for him. His snub was the perfect storm of circumstance.

And, as I said earlier, even if Christine WERE the primary reason he didn't get inducted, he brought that on himself when he sued them. You just don't do that and expect consideration and respect in turn.

But what if he WAS screwed out of money?

At the end of the day, right is right, and wrong is wrong.

But that was well put...a perfect storm of circumstance. Indeed.

I don't think Lindsey has a history of leaving when he doesn't get his way. He left once and it wasn't because he didn't get his way. He may THREATEN to leave, but he doesn't actually go.

He DID go when he wanted french food that time, however. But when faced with a cold cheese omelet, who among us ...

Well! I see that in this top page, that this thread has more views and responses than any other! Now...I know there's also a long history of posts, but as far as this top page, MY POST HAS THE MOST REPLIES AND VIEWS! So, with that, I grab my Top hat and Cane and take my Penguin bow.

You might be forgetting that Stevie has already heard all these songs.

Maybe the songs intimidated her and she felt she couldn't write at that level.

Maybe she's finally run out of stuff she wrote 40 years ago.

Oh God, don't tempt the fates. There's more. I love her old demos. I just don't like them with her older voice.

I'd rather have another solo album.
