The "24 Karat Gold" Thread

ok so Stevie has said 24 Karat Gold and Watch Chain are the songs about Mick. That leaves Starshine out. In one of these threads we talked about who is the he/she/I that said this and that. He being Mick, I being Stevie and She being Mick's wife Jenny made sense. now that we know it's NOT about Mick, I'm left to wonder who the "he" is that she played with fire with……. do we know when this one was written? (narrow down the suspects )

I had trouble trying to get it to play as well. (perhaps it was buffering all that time?) It was a little confusing because the only thing that changed was the "play" arrow turned into a "pause" button, but no music started. Eventually after trying both the pop out player and the page player I had pretty much given up when I guess enough time had gone by for it to load or whatever was going on and finally it started. Then after it began with Starshine and then The Dealer I thought it was only going to play the released singles. I was so happy when I finally heard something start up that was new.

yep. Apple doesn't allow Flash on the iPad

oy. after getting it to stream fine thru Starshine and the dealer which of course I already have, it pooped out in the middle of crazy Mabel Normand… which to me is just as wacky as it always was. Just going to sit and wait it out and see if crazy Mabel comes back on.

my tech support (i.e., my husband) says Apple doesn't support Flash on iOS devices at all….that would be your phone too

I am listening on my macbook air, but it's died in the middle of song 3 and I'm waiting to see if it returns….

I wonder whether the Amazon streaming app would let you listen on an iPhone or iPad?

No go on that one as well, in the amazon streaming app it just allows you the songs that have been released as singles, and only if you pre-ordered. I have been dealing with Amazon support for the better part of an hour now, but of course its all agents out of India and they are not understanding the situation. So frustrating but its all good! Just wish her management would have went through rollingstone or something for the stream. I think thats what happened with IYD either that or NPR I cant remember

I finally got it to play by closing the page and reopening and starting over.

I got down to I don't care this time before the stream stopped. Its like OMG I just want to hear All The Beautiful Worlds lol

But at least its working at all. Always a silver lining. So far what I have heard has been fabulous

immmm listening to Amazon stream. I have to say I love the way the regular version is sequenced. The flow is soo much better. I love this album!

Just listened to the Amazon streaming of 24K Gold and it is OUTSTANDING! Dave Stewart, Waddy Wachtel and the Nashville musicians created magic out of Stevie's demos. Love the sequencing of the songs. Surprises were Hard Advice, LOVE IT! Blue Water definately not what I expected, very country and Lady Antebellum harmonies at the end were so good. Stevie's vocals were superb throughout the album. Mable Normand much better than the demo, I never liked the demo but this version is pleasantly quirky. Soooo loving this and can't wait for my own order from Amazon to come so I can play to my heart's content!

they are blitzing the web with videos and commentary, putting a lot of cheap but smart promotion into this album.

Dave said he had great meetings with Warner over this album. They know they have a winner and gotta find a way to get people to hear it.
