I do. It reminds me of "Blue Lamp" totally non-sensical - thats not why I don't like it. I don't know what it is about that song - I just don't really like it very much Its actually my second least fav on "Tusk" - behind "Not That Funny"

I tend to prefer Stevie's latter stuff...

"Say You Will" IS my favourite Fleetwood Mac record, but I don't 'hate' "Rumours" - its a quality album, but I hate the attention it gets. Fleetwood Mac have clearly made a number of records that could be considered 'better' than "Rumours", yet everybody is always talking about "Rumours"

"Rumours" is probably my fourth favourite Mac album...

i don't begrudge rumours its notoriety. it's sold a bajillion albums, and it really is a fab album, as you said. (btw, sorry for using hyperbole when i said you hate it - i know you don't). how "good" an album is is completely subjective, and rumours is the most commercially friendly and successful, so of course most people are going to say it's the best and talk about it the most. it just appeals to the most number of people. does that make sense? i'm tired. and anyway, i kind of like when i enjoy things that are commercially underappreciated, like tusk or cyndi lauper or LB or whatever.

I agree, but surely "Tango in the Night" "Mirage" and even "Behind the Mask" are just as commercialy friendly as "Rumours", so I don't think that is it. But I think word of mouth and notoriety have put "Rumours" on this pedestal that it does not deserve. I stand by the fact that "Say You Will" "Tusk" and "Mystery to Me" are 100 times better albums than "Rumours".

What are your rankings for the Mac albums btw?...

no matter how strong your feelings, that's still an opinion, silly.

i have penguin, bare trees, and mystery to me, but i really don't feel comfortable ranking them quite yet. i like all those albums, but i don't feel the same connection with them as i do with albums of the BN incarnation of FM.

1) rumours
2) tusk
3) white album
4) titn/syw
6) btm
7) mirage

what's your full ranking?

1. Say You Will
2. Tusk
3. Mystery to Me
4. Rumours
5. Tango in the Night
6. Behind the Mask
7. Bare Trees
8. Then Play On
9. Mirage
10. White Album
11. Time

I also have "Penguin" "Heroes Are Hard to Find" and "Future Games" but have not listened to them enough to rank them yet. I didn't include any live albums either. The rankings often change though, but "Say You Will" is always number 1

Listening to:

Stevie Nicks - If You Ever Did Believe

mine change a lot, too. tusk is pretty close to #1, but rumours is just so good, imo. i can listen to it over and over, it's very therapeutic for me.

I adore TISL. "Bella Donna" is a very close second though. TISL is beyond words for me...
