Default Movie Musical Poll

I can only post 10 choices, so I rounded up some of the biggies. So vote away...I'm curious.

This is my very fist (and probably last poll) I've ever done.

I'll have to ponder this for a few minutes, dear. If Rocky Horror was on there, it would have gotten my vote in an instant, but I'm torn on a couple of the choices.

I thought about Rocky Horror...but it got bumped.

I must say for me, Little Shop of Horros, rocks my vote. I can't get enough of it.

Down on skidrow...

Nothing yet. I'm leaning towards Little Shop of Horrors based on creativity alone and because it cracked me up.

I love Moulin Rouge, but it loses points for not having a whole lot of original music and because I f*cking hate Ewan McGregor's oversinging.

Actually, I really like them all a temendous amount with the exception of Little Shop of Horrors, which I thought was just okay.

I had to chose between Moulin Rouge and Cabaret but I decided on Cabaret just because it's a damn good movie/musical...and Liza just BECAME her character...not to mention the amazing director that was Bob Fosse!

I loved Ewan's singing btw. I can understand what you mean by oversinging...still he has got a great voice on him.

He sounds constipated. It drives me nuts. But the movie itself is so bombastic and orgasmic that I'm going to vote for it. Plus, it has Jim Broadbent singing "Like A Virgin." He rocks, bitches.

Since I hate musicals, this was easy. Moulin Rouge. It had a tremendous impact on me. I was an idiot, and completely in love when I saw it. I sobbed like a jackass. The idea of using modern pop music to infuse a dead genre with life is one I like. Way to go Baz. And Catharine Martin is genius.

Cabaret was fun....the others, whatever.

I chose The Sound of Music - perhaps because I habe been called the Baroness " Darling, haven't you ever heard of a delightful little thing called boarding school?" Ebberfeld on more than one occasion

Seriously, the music was fab., Julie Andrews was fab., and who the hell has a dry eye when the big nun BELTS out Climb Every Mountain Speaking of which there used to be this HUGE drag queen here (Fajita Marinara I think) who did and interesting, but killer rendition of this - it involved props and that is all I am saying

Also, Grease was great and just so happy.

Rocky comes in as great as well.

Default Chicago

It's the only one on the list that I can even bear to watch.

All that camera play drove me nuts and IMO took away from the talent of the Zeta Jones and cast. It was too jumpy and distracting. Also, I am not a huge fan of Fosse, though he had oodles of talent. In the end, I like the movie despite that distraction.

If Chicago would have been made in the 1970's like it was supposed to and Bob Fosse could have actually directed it...it would have been SUPREME!

I believe that had it where Liza and Ann-Margret would star. If only...
