People are too sensitive. Words rarely bother me.

That one has less to do with slang and more to do with the fact that it references our constitution, so no wonder you don't get it!

JTIS that I'm currently ploughing my way through an entire tub of Ben and Jerry's cookie dough...I'm like a machine that can't be stopped. I will regret this later.

Just thought I'd share, I'll be missing for the next 10 days because I'll be cruising the Western Caribbean. See you later!

Admittedly, I remain woefully ignorant of the vast majority of American History.

Meaningless bickering is boring to others and takes up space in here.

I got robbed today at work. There's a lawyer's room in the courthouse where everyone leaves their coats and stuff while running around insanely all day. When I went back to the room to get my stuff to leave, I found my bag was open and my wallet was sitting on top, emptied of cash, coins, and unlimited Metrocard!

Thankfully they didn't take credit cards or ID or anything else, and my boss (despite usually being a narcissistic psychopath) asked me how much I had in there, I said about $60, and he gave me a $20 and wrote me a $100 check!

Since I've already had my coat taken (by mistake? don't know) and brought back the next day, I guess the next step is being raped on a side street...

I'm so paranoid about having my coat stolen. About 15 years ago, I had TWO stolen, in about a 6 month period. Ever since then, I guard them like they're made of gold!

I was at a big dinner party on Sunday, and all the coats were in a bedroom. Well, this guy that I didn't know, was leaving with a black pea coat just like mine. I wouldn't have even noticed, but his scarf was pretty much identical to mine. I went leaping up the stairs, to confirm that mine was still there, before I confronted him. It was his! Yeah, I know, everyone has a black pea coat. It was the nearly matching scarf that threw me!

It's weird, because the day before my coat disappeared, I had noticed a sign on the wall in that room from another attorney asking that whoever took his coat please return it! But what really annoys me about the robbery business is that that room is hardly bigger than a closet and ALWAYS has at least one resting/researching/yoga-ing/eating/sleeping lawyer in it... and NO ONE saw (or, more likely, cared) that a lawyer's bag was being ransacked???

Talking Doing fine...

hoping to hear back from a casino that I applied for work at. Otherwise just keeping a stiff upper lip about things. Including a recent neck injury, lol!

And I haven't listened to Stevie Nicks/Lindsey Buckingham/Fleetwood Mac in probably well over a year

I hate people. A couple of weeks ago I was grocery shopping in the Chinatown in Flushing, Queens and I left my sweater on a chair to save a spot in an eatery. A couple of minutes later it was gone. I mean, okay, fine, it was a nice sweater and you wanted it. But how can you do this to someone when it's 35°F outside and I'm only wearing a T-shirt under the sweater? That's just downright sociopathic.

To make matters worse, I lost my camera at the Bjork concert in Queens. My good camera. As soon as I realized it (when I got home), I posted on the Lost and Found area on Craigslist. No reply. The next day I called the museum in Queens (where the concert took place), and they said nobody had turned in a camera. Buggers, I thought. Two days later, long after I had written it off as a loss, the museum called me to tell me the camera had been turned in. Thus, my faith in humanity has been restored.

All I can say is that it takes all kinds in this world- both saints and sinners. And unfortunately, you have to spend 90% of your energy protecting yourself from the wrongdoings of the sinners.

Yikes, sorry to hear about the sweater! It's good to hear that someone actually turned in the camera though; I would've figured it gone for good.

If it helps the perspective at all, the courthouse where robbery is apparently just fine is the Bronx Housing Court (*cough*GHETTO*cough* ).

Come to Queens more often! We're much nicer than Bronx people!
