It's his new-millenium-Save me a place. Equally priceless, equally brilliant. You'll never ever catch the feel of that side of Lindsey, JS. But at least you try, and that's a beautiful thing.

From this album, "Everytime I Fall Back" is my favorite. "Promises In The Dark" is still my all-time fave PB track.

A Pat Benatar/Lindsey Buckingham connection:

Scott Breadman, who was in Lindsey's Out Of The Cradle touring band, plays drums on Pat's Innamorata album.

Freak

I am uploading the Heather Nova live concert "Wonderlust" up now, so you should have it in 10 minutes or so.

Is a .zip file okay?...

My problem with "Save Me A Place" has always been its sludge-like production. Gerald, have you ever heard the phrase "it's like molassess rolling up a hill in June"? That's what "Save Me A Place" feels like to me. Lindsey's real gem on 'Tusk,' is "That's All For Everyone." That one's brilliant.

My problem with "Shut Us Down" is the same as my problem with "Say Goodbye"... the instrumentation is too fussy and doesn't gel with the vocal melody. If I focus in only on the vocal or only on the instrumentation, I can enjoy the songs... but, to my ears, the two main parts in each don't add up to a cohesive whole and it becomes something akin to Chinese Water Torture for me.
On the other hand, and although it took some time to grow on me, I think "Red Rover" is the only one of Lindsey's three songs in this vein that actually works... and that's largely because the vocal melody and the instrumentation don't sound like they're competing for your attention. They sound like they were meant to go together, and they create a very effective, moving, and, at times, chilling musical piece.

But, hey, Gerald... disliking two or three of Lindsey's songs isn't such a bad thing, right? I love all the rest!
