I think I may refer to Theresa and Paula as suger teets from this moment on - they may feel free (LORD CHILD) to refer to me as a nappy headed hoe.

If it were me, and I were busting my ass to make something of myself and break down stereotypes and be a great role model for young girls, I'm be hurt & upset & pissed off if I felt that my accomplishments were being overlooked & I was being stereotyped because of my race.
This is the whole thing boiled down to basic truth of it. Great post, Paula. It would be great if people would just concentrate on the real issue instead of that other bull****.

My favorite. Phrase. Ever!! Whenever it's used, it's such a point-in-eye-with-a-sharp-stick to Smell Gibson. He will never get away from the sound of the Sugar Tits that loved him.....

Well, physically I am, but spiritually and ethnically I'm not.

Thank you, Paula. This is exactly the point.

Yes and yes. The trick is going to be (or IMO should be) getting this basic level of respect to be demanded a bit more universally. That includes the black community. And that is where all this comes together in my mind.

I agree with you. You see it in stand up comedy all the time. It's okay if a black man makes a comment about lil ol whitey over there, but you know if a white comedian even hinted at any ill toward blacks, people would be all over it.

I just used the example of comedians because I saw something on Just for Laughs a few nights ago, where this guy made a stereotypical white person joke. Everyone cracked up. There were no news reports about it. You know it would be a different case if it were the other way around. I'm not saying racism from either side is appropriate, but play fair. Condemn one group, gotta condemn the other.

Racism isn't "****" to a lot of people. Just because you think you've got the skinny on all black people and feel like you can write everything off as "all of them" running to Sharpton doesn't mean problem solved.

That reminds me of an old black and white movie from the 30's where Kate Smith is sitting around with a bunch of little black kids singing about "Pickaninnies dreaming about watermelon".

MSNBC has dropped the simulcast of Imus.

This is getting WAY out of hand.

Thank you! And a lot of the black people I know don't even like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton all that much. Those two men do not speak for an entire race of people.

Once again, Jason Whitlock hits the nail right on the head.
