Yeah, I felt it really important to correct you on that one. For some reason. Not sure what that reason was.

Weird song that climbed the charts: Der Kommisar. Did I spell that right? That was a weird song.

Since we are listing weird songs, here are a few, and I really like some of them, but they are weird.

"Love Plus One" by Haircut 100 Sample lyrics:
"Ay ah ah ah ah ah
Ay ah ah ah ah ah
Then I call
Ring (ring) ring (ring) ring (ring) ring (ring)
La la love plus one
Ring (ring) ring (ring) ring (ring) ring (ring)
When I call love"

"Rock Lobster" by The B-52's, "She Blinded Me With Science" By Thomas Dolby, and "Cars" by Gary Numan----All I can say is "Wooh."

Oh, and as for weird songs, I saw someone mention "Macarthur Park"... who on Earth sings about a cake being left out in the rain?

I always thot MacArthur Park was profound....kinda cerebral ya know? it painted visual images of decay which I think were pertinent to the point of the song....

The "kid" in the "Mr. Roboto" video was a former bandmate of mine...Blake Bachman! We'd just returned from a tour of British Columbia when he did the video for that.

Weird song to top the charts:

Right Said Fred: "I'm Too Sexy".

So sexy it hurts

New York and Japan

And I'm too sexy for your party
Too sexy for your party
No way I'm disco dancing

I'm a model you know what I mean
And I do my little turn on the catwalk
Yeah on the catwalk on the catwalk yeah
I do my little turn on the catwalk

Does anybody remember that awful Apache song from the early 80s? I remember it at the roller rinks.

Unfortunately, yes. And I remember the line dance that went along with it. I think at every school dance it was played
