Yeah! Fugis and Empire, I forgot those. Macs are OK in a pinch, but they're the ones I'll buy if they're on sale, not by choice.

Did you try the Honey Crisp yet? They are both tart and crisp.

You mean apples get better tasting than Red Delicious!?!

How do I know what the different types are - are they labeled or something?? I'll have to check when I'm at the store next.

they should be arranged according to type, and they should also have sticker on them to tell you what kind. and the ones that already come in the bag - they should be labeled right on the bag.

I'm an Apple Morong

I've never even noticed aside from red and green

I'll pay more attention next time and try some different kinds of apples. I get really sick of apples - maybe it's because I've been eating the exact same kind for 20+ years

Speaking of apples - in New York this lady had me over to dinner - she made a home-made apple pie - and did explain baking apples vs eating apples - then she made me eat my pie with a piece of cheese on top...that? was not good.

cheese on pie? ew. yeah, baking and eating ... like, i think macintosh are used for baking a lot. i would totally get bored of eating apples if all i ate were red delicious! they are so mild and bland. get some pink ladies or gala! so tart, crisp, and delish!

they're not as severe as granny smiths. i mean, those are more sour. these just have a little bite to them.

and yes folks, i could probably keep talking about apples for a couple more pages.

Well I'll try a different variety of apple next time I shop - and I'll report back to you.

Maybe I'll try several varieties and then make a pie chart - and post it hear

But don't go thinking because I'm willing to try new apples that I'm going to try eating fake meat!!!!

Grannies are best for baking, I've heard.

BTW - inspired by Carrie, I just had a Gala apple with peanut butter.
