You're into politics, so you'll adore the Tanner series. Especially Tanner On Tanner, they shot it at the DNC. They're unbelievably hilarious and Robert Altman directed them.

I would have said Six Feet Under awhile back, but it has gotten UNWATCHABLE. So, Queer As Folk...

Tanner '88 is a bit more expensive because it's from the Criterion Collection and they want your firstborn child in exchange for their damned DVDs, but it's totally worth it. You might even be able to get it at Half.com for cheap. In any case, they're really great!!!!!
