The Bush is back.

I was weaned on Pat Benatar and have always loved her version of Wuthering Heights. I was probably 13 when I first heard Kate's original and was so freaked out by her voice, I honestly thought it was either a joke or there was something legitimately wrong with her

I warmed to Kate a few years later after hearing This Woman's Work, but she's definitely not for everyone.

Except, apparently, in Britain. Even as a fan, I'm continually surprised she has such wide appeal there.
Kate Bush #1? I'm trying to imagine that happening in the US.

I really love it when friends go into vast detail about their own lives and you sit there ever so graciously listening and commenting when appropriate. But when it comes to you they shut off and make it clear that they really do not care what's going on in your life and what you have to say. Really. That's just super.

I really wish I had somebody to talk to. I'm sat here in my bedroom alone trying to make myself feel less alone by posting on a public forum whose occupants probably barely even notice that I have an account. I'm pathetic. The worst thing is I'm so lonely I'm actually crying. And I'm just so lame that I'm telling you about it. Just give it up and go to bed Bee.

It's safe to say we've all had friends like that! One of my very best friends was that way, actually. Our friendship revolved around his needs, his convenience, and his having the type of good time he wanted to have. If other friends in our group decided we wanted to go to a restaurant or bar he didn't suggest, he'd ruin the entire outing by pouting like a spoiled child. He wasn't there for major moments in any of our lives, though we were always there for his. Everything you shared with him, he'd rope back into a conversation about him & his "mama." Yes, this was a 40 year old man who is obsessed with his Mother who runs his life. I finally had to just cut off our friendship recently, which I hated. That's what you've gotta do with people whom you can't have equal friendships with, unfortunately.

Seriously?

. It's one of my favorite songs ever. Have you read the book? The song sums it up very well, and captures its spirit so perfectly that i have to cry when i hear the song. And to think that she wrote that when she was like 18...That's just pure songwriting talent.

It's only because they were seniors. We're not allowed to do anything dumb this year or we will be hanged in the town square. Our class is horrible for some reason. But as an AP kid I can get away with killing God
