a person should not be subjected to public ridicule because they choose to delete a post they perhaps thought better left unsaid. to state what was stated by the MOD was more of a 'nany nany poopoo, i can still see what you wrote' and now everybody knows so. not cool, IMO.

HA, I don't believe that at all. Mods should be able to see private posts in case something bad was happening. No reason to lie!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: the only reason I pointed out mods could read deleted posts was because that particular user has a history of abusing the delete feature. Stirring up trouble, then deleting their posts thinking they can cover their tracks. This person also does not acknowledge private messages, so I decided to say something in this thread. NOTICE: I NEVER USED THE PERSON'S NAME IN THAT POST.

Believe what you want. Moderators & Super Moderators do not have the ability to read private messages.

someone deleted a post i made~ not sure why, i've seen far nastier~ & i have never had that done to me~

The only reason that post was deleted is because it was a response to 2 other members bickering. One of those members requested the whole conversation be removed, which we gladly did. You were not in the wrong one iota.

FWIW, PMs are private unless forwarded. Well, that's what a previous MOD said. But, seems lots of new and previously undisclosed options are are available.

Pretty sure MODS can disable the delete feature for a user, at least says so in FAQ user/forum rules. 'abuse' 'stirring up trouble'...what are MODS waiting for?
