Yes! I just noticed on WW web site that's it's free registration for the U.S. (a savings of $20), for a limited time. If anyone's interested

OK, I attempted another "on demand" exercise routine this morning. This time I did a "Slim in 6" workout. Afterwards, there was in infomercial to buy the whole series, of course. Anyway, much better than the other ones I tried. It was a bit slower paced, more of a target-toning workout than a "OK, let's get that heartrate up to 200!!!" type thing. I didn't fall over once! So I Tivo'd it for future use.
It was basically the moves I've been doing for a while (the ones I got out of Redbook - squats, lunges, etc.) but slower, more controlled & with cardio bursts in between. We'll see how sore I am tomorrow. |

I hadn't been to the gym in a few days as I got sick I felt better yesterday but wanted to take it easy - but went back today. I hate skipping so many days - I missed 4...but I was sick so I didn't eat a whole lot...hopefully it'll all even out...
But now I'm back on track...I was able to do a ful 45 minute cardio workout so I'm definitely on the mend. Still don't know how much weight I've lost, I still don't have a scale |

I've got "friends" at work pressuring me to do WW and I'm just not sure I want to. I mean, I know it's good and it may help me lose these last 10-15 lbs, but I just hate the thought. |

^^
Why do you hate the thought? Just curious. It's not a bad program...but if you're not ready to track all you eat, and count points etc...then it's definitely not for you. What I like about it is it's not at all restrictive...doesn't tell you not to eat certain foods - it's all about choices and portion sizes etc.. That said, you get a bad meeting leader/members and you're doomed - I HATED the meetings... |

of what? I love this programme! The weight is falling off of me and I'm never hungry. I only had 15 lbs to lose, but I just couldn't do it on my own. Knowing you've paid and have to weigh in at the end of the week, is what keeps me on it! I even stay for the meetings. They're great.

the thought of keeping up with points and all that I guess. I've done WW before and it does work, I know that, but I just don't think it's for me. I may give it another shot though.

Eat Fat, Get Nutrients, Be Happy
From: http://www.drweil.com/drw/u/id/WBL02022
A wise person once pointed out that you are not what you eat, you are what you absorb. True enough; the world’s healthiest diet is of no use if the nutrients are not assimilated. So how can we maximize absorption? As it turns out, some of the healthiest compounds in fruits and vegetables are fat soluble, which suggest some fat must be present in the meal for the nutrients to be absorbed. An Ohio State University researcher put that idea to the test. Eleven test subjects first ate a salad with romaine lettuce, baby spinach, shredded carrots and no-fat dressing. When the same salad was consumed with avocado, the subjects absorbed seven times more lutein and nearly 18 times more beta carotene, both vital nutrients that have anti-cancer and cardiovascular benefits. In my view, one of the great revelations of the last 20 years of nutrition science is the vital importance of “good fats,” to which I would include omega-3 fatty acids, found in fish, walnuts and flax seeds. For more on the benefits of good fats - including intriguing research on how they can provide safe, natural relief from depression - look here.

I have to say I want it bad as well. else I wouldn't be working out 5 times a week for the past 8 months, sworn off fast food and dropped 32.6 pounds. |

Congrates on the 32.6!! How many more do you want to lose? Are you counting calories or just cut out fast food?

I am totally counting calories and fat grams. no fast food and I try to limit myself to one 8 oz. serving of soda a day. I don't eat after 7:30 and I try to limit my white flour/sugar intake. I alternate workouts between walk/running and aerobic tapes 5 -6 times a week. I usually take Sundays off, but more often than not it's Fridays and Sundays off with some fun workout on Saturdays. oh, I also do strength training 2-3 times a week. the best aerobic tape I've found that combines cardio and strength training is a DVD I got at Target that comes with a resistance cord. I wish I could find a copy of the cover to show you all. I HIGHLY recommend it. Last edited by JazmenFlowers; 02-09-2007 at 12:16 PM.. |
