Sorry, not trying to be critical of you, just my two cents based on observing some of the talk going around on this space over the last few months. Back to regularly scheduled programming...

It's a fair question. And to answer as best as I can.. (even though this is directed at Homer). Christine's history had been that of a more "humble" and laid back character. So for her to say that is funny and ironic.

Stevie Nicks says it constantly...in her actions and demeanor...

Didnt John quite famously say something quite similar at one point? I think it might have been aimed at Lindsey...
I'm John Mc f***ing Vie or something along those lines.

If not he should have. haha. Reminds me of the line where John didn't want to spend money on a mixer while Lindsey and Stevie were arguing over who would mix SYW. And Lindsey said: "OK, we can just leave out your bass line." And he says something like: "Like always." And Lindsey kinda looks down and smirks and says: "Alriiight." haha.

That's why it's so glorious how present is John on this new track. It really is beautiful given John's recent health concerns. "In my world everybody stays"... :'(

I think in the context of the interview, with all of psychological hurdles Christine has had to leap in order to bring her gift to the world again, the reminder that she's CHRISTINE F***ING MCVIE is so profound and well-earned.

If Stevie had said it in, say, the context of answering an interview question why she isn't doing a Mac album--I think it would shock many. But WOULD SHE BE WRONG?

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Yeah, exactly. She was essentially a hermit for more than 16 years. She's more than earned it. I f***king love the quote.

The more I think about her saying that in an interview, the funnier it gets for me.

How I love seeing Christine with all those Fleetwood Mac pictures on her wall.

Part of the difference is that I love Christine, and can't stand Stevie.
In my world, my opinion is all that matters.

Well I love her to bits but...

'... There was also that tawdry affair where (guitarist) Bob Weston slept with Mick's wife. That was very acrimonious and obviously Bob had to be sacked'.

...wasn't it around about this time (or just before) she was having a tawdry affair with Martin Birch?

Yeah, if Stevie had said that, people who don't like her would be condemning her, but since Christine said it, it's ok. Doesn't matter to me either way, but it is funny. Christine's entitled to having as big an ego as Stevie or Lindsey.

I found the interview very interesting, especially her comments about her songwriting with ex-husband Eddy Q. I personally thought her songwriting reached it's peak with Tango and Behind the Mask, and I always thought Eddy might have had something to do with that. Clearly, her songwriting with Eddy was something she didn't want to talk about, yet ironically, that was something I was really interested in hearing more about. As Long As You Follow, Save Me, Love Shines, Behind the Mask, Skies the Limit, and Heart of Stone are just as good as anything from Tango, but it's too bad she doesn't agree because they weren't huge hits.

Her comments about Behind the Mask were also disheartening. If the album had sold 7 million copies, like Tango, then she wouldn't have made those comments. By all accounts, the recording of Behind the Mask went very smoothly, with Stevie much more present than she had been with Tango, yet she lumped it with Time, an experience Christine hated.

I was surprised she hates behind the mask. It's one of my favourites. I think her contributions to time are some of her best songs. The nosey part of me would have liked her to go into more depth in regards to the eddy question

Same here, re: Eddy. I would have liked her to go into depth about the non-Lindsey period. She was praising BTM when he departed.

Another great question would have been: What was the defining moment that made you start to miss FMac again?

We know about her fear of flying. We also know she became something of a hermit. I didn't know she wouldn't even drive her car though- She was just a bit screwed up!
