Wow. That's really surprising to me. Was that when the Borgata still had the outside venue? Because, that, I could see...since that section of town is near private housing.

I just don't get the inside thing...but, hey, I should have known anything is possible in the tri-state area. After hearing a new dumb rule or law set in NYC every other day...nothing should shock me!

I really, really enjoyed that concert last night. But, I still can't remember what I wanted to say. In the "olden days" (a few years ago), I always took a few notes and then came back to the Ledge and wrote about....oh, 40 pages or so...now, I can't remember one thing I wanted to say. But, when I was watching, I thought...oh, I have to remember that.

OH--I just remembered one thing. Her intro to Moonlight: A Vampire's Dream. That was, to me (one of those who don't "get it") hysterically funny. Just the thought of her being so "taken" with the film. And she said you either got it or you just didn't get it at all. And, all I kept thinking was...for pity's sake...don't ever let her get that obsessed with that 50 Shades of Gray thing or we will be in for some truly bizarre songs. Unfurling the chains...

Now, I remembered something else. I think. She said "duh" at one point (although I'm not really sure when) and then explained what she meant by "duh." ha!

Then, she introduced us to her cape. I believe that was the exact word she used. Said she was the only one allowed to touch it. Then she said, "I'm going to put it away now."

For What it's Worth still makes me tear up. Kind of personal but the whole "you saved my life, I won't forget it," line gets to me, every time.

I really loved the new intro to the show, too! That recording of the old song that you hear her singing? And then she walks out. LOVE that.

She has one hell of a stage presence. Maybe that's why I feel so "meh" about Vanessa Carlton. Too much contrast in styles.

Yeah, I'm like freaking out that she actually acknowledged/suggested this. You're getting our hopes up Stevie!!!

Loving the imitations and introductions. She really is coming into her own more now than ever before. So proud..

Regina! I know when she said "duh"....it was when she said the "Leather and Lace" is a song she never really got to do live because it was a duet and not many men can sing that song, and then it hit her that her vocal coach could sing the song with her. She was like "Duh" as in "how could I not have come up with that idea years ago?!"

The show I saw in 2009 at the Borgata with the supposed curfew was inside at the same venue: the "Event Center". I have no idea what the curfew had to do with. Or if I knew at the time, I forgot. But fans were disgruntled, and felt ripped off that 3 songs were cut when they were paying a more expensive amount to see a show at The Borgata.

Stevie Nicks on The Voice, 4 Stars
July 16, 2012
By: Donald Kravitz

The Event Center at the Borgata Hotel, Casino and Spa in Atlantic City was filled Sunday evening July 15, 2012. Stevie Nicks fans were getting ready to get to their feet in anticipation of what was about to happen. Nicks has appeared in Atlantic City a number of times, both as a solo act and with the ageless group Fleetwood Mac.

The audience was comprised of fans who came as families, many as couples and a few who danced down the aisles to music that was not playing and at least a half dozen or so fans dressed like Stevie Nicks, several sporting Stevie type hairstyles or clothing.

From the opening number, “Rock N Roll” Nicks followers were somehow already on their feet, and just remained on their throughout the entire first song. The concert, which contained thirteen selections during the main portion of the show was followed by the encore, “Landslide,” had the room yelling, dancing and just having a wonderful time. Nicks appeared as confident as she looked during her Fleetwood Mac days, and her voice seemed just as vibrant and full of energy as it was during her rise to popularity even though she did tell the audience “I am having some voice issues.”

With an ever changing stage background lighting and backdrops adding to the excitement of the event and also greatly helped enhance the pulsating musical sounds that filled the entire Event Center. With a song book that include familiar selections like “Enchanted Dreams,” Rhiannon,” (which brought the audience to almost a point of frenzy), “Stand Back,” and more, Nicks showed her devotees that she was just as talented as ever.

No matter what your perceptions are of Stevie Nicks, she still has the ability to stir the emotions of an audience. Everyone present at the Sunday night show appeared to be having a great time. The sights, the sounds and the atmosphere felt charged from start to finish. The fact that she can fill a large room is a testament to her fan following. If you were not a Nicks fan when you entered the Event Center it would be hard to admit you were not now a fan as you exited.

Stephanie Lynn "Stevie" Nicks (born May 26, 1948) is an American singer-songwriter, best known for her work with Fleetwood Mac and an extensive solo career, which collectively have produced over forty Top 50 hits and sold over 140 million albums. Nicks joined Fleetwood Mac in 1974, along with her then boyfriend Lindsey Buckingham.

Fleetwood Mac's second album after the incorporation of Nicks and Buckingham, 1977's “Rumours,” produced four US Top 10 singles (including Nicks song "Dreams," which was the band's first and only US number one) and remained at No.1 on the American albums chart for 31 weeks. To date the album has sold over forty million copies worldwide, making it the 10th best selling album of all time.

Nicks began her solo career in 1981 with the 8 million selling album”Bella Donna,” and she has produced six more solo studio albums to date. Her seventh solo studio album entitled, “In Your Dreams,” and her first in ten years, was released on May 3, 2011.
Having overcome an addiction to cocaine, and dependency on tranquilizers, Nicks remains a popular solo performer. As an single artist, she has garnered eight Grammy Award nominations and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998.

Stevie Nicks sprinkles her Gold Dust over rapt audience at Borgata

By Nicky Vallee

By her own acknowledgement, Stevie Nicks was late to the stage Sunday night. Eleven months late, to be exact. Due to vocal issues, the legendary singer and iconic front woman for classic rock royalty Fleetwood Mac was forced to cancel her August 2011 show at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. She certainly made up for lost time, wowing the crowd with her trademark rasp, string of hit songs, and inimitable gypsy goddess style.

“I’ve danced across the stages of the world,” she informed the audience, filled with loyal and energized fans, many of them dressed in flowing dresses and bangles. “Let’s just have fun tonight,” she encouraged. “Let’s have a really good time.”

Nicks opened with a rousing rendition of the popular Led Zeppelin anthem “Rock and Roll,” followed by her own “Enchanted” and “Secret Love” from 2011’s In Your Dreams, her first studio album in a decade since the release of the impressive Trouble in Shangri-la. Known for being fond of conversing with her audience, Nicks went a step further this time, painstakingly introducing each song as if she were sitting in her own living room with a cup of tea in one hand, lacey tambourine in the other.

One of the more poignant moments of the night came when Nicks shared a story of her experiences with wounded veterans at Walter Reed Hospital, a series of events that inspired the raw and emotional track “Soldier’s Angel.”

Hoarse at times, Nicks admitted she was feeling a bit off vocally, but by no means did she fail to deliver on her revered classics, offering an intense rendition of “Gold Dust Woman” and some seriously understated emotion in “Rhiannon.” At one point, she even brought her vocal coach to the stage for a duet on the elegant classic “Leather and Lace.” When longtime guitarist Waddy Wachtel launched into the iconic and often-sampled riff that kicks off “Edge of Seventeen,” the audience was electrified.

Nicks ended the show with an encore of “Landslide,” asking the audience to “be safe so we can do this again, and appreciate your families while you still have them.” She seemed in good spirits backstage after the show and is scheduled to enjoy a few days off before embarking on the next leg of her tour, which includes a handful of U.S. dates with Rod Stewart.

With a Fleetwood Mac reunion tour scheduled for 2013, and the possibility of a new album on the horizon for the band, the 64-year-old is showing no signs of slowing down, and seems to be hitting her stride, one unforgettable performance at a time.

Stevie Nicks was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Fleetwood Mac in 1998.

Perhaps this truncated set list represents what she intends to sing on the upcoming tour with Roddie.

That above review does mention something else I liked - she quoted Sweet Girl "I danced across the stages of the world" However it wasn't at the beginning of the show that she said this like the article might make you assume. I'm pretty sure she said this after Soldier's Angel - when she said what she would remember in her last days. She said she would remember the shows, remember us, and remember all of those soldiers that she visited.

Also, when I first saw her she told us to donate to the uso. Now it's fancier - she has the uso and three other website names that come up on the big screen behind her - and she reads each one off her teleprompter.

She reads just the organization or the website url? She says "www" and dot.com? For some reason, that amuses me that Stevie does that.

Well yes it is amusing when that comes on the back of her saying she doesn't have a computer

Oh one other comment she made was how if the power went out or something, we'd all be unable to communicate with each other, but since she doesn't have a computer she'd be just fine (or words similar)

I love how she is constantly peeking subtly at the teleprompter all night throughout the show, but when it comes to plugging the soldier charities, she is deliberately squinting at the teleprompter as she reads off the URLs in a forced/halting cadence, as if she has never read them aloud before; as if it was beneath her to be facile with techno-babble. She wears her luddite-ism as a badge of honor.

She didn't say www. Which would be funny. I'm pretty sure she said .com, or .org. I don't recall - I think the www was omitted from the big screen behind her, and probably was on the teleprompter too. I feel like she would say www if it was on her teleprompter.
