This is not what Stevie sounds like. Her vibrato is completely f*cked up, and this, second of all, was recorded on stage after the audience left the SoundStage venue. Not really a studio recording.

All we've had in the interim are a bunch of sh*tty audience recordings on Youtube and a much-altered dance remix of "Dreams." And with a different producer, it goes without saying that he coached her to do her vocal a certain way. And even through all of those crappy audience recordings, I think it's safe to say that Stevie's voice is much better now than it was during the SYW days. I don't know what it is... menopause, weight loss, asthma control... whatever. But something is obviously working for the better here.

Good lord David, you of all people.

First of all, I don't think there is any way of knowing for certain whether this was actually recorded on stage that night in October, or whether it was completely re-recorded in the studio later on. And as for her vibrato, it sounds pretty consistent with the vibrato she has been putting out on these Unleashed Youtube clips.

It sounds exactly like Stevie, and a damn good Stevie at that.

I don't know how me saying her voice was altered for this recording is being cynical...as i said, i happen to like what was done to her voice in this recording.

Rumors are going around that Lindsey might be up to his old tricks again.
It's been leaked that using the old variable speed recording technique (as
was used on the "love grunts" on "Big Love"), that the re-recording (in-studio)
work done for the live CD wasn't even Stevie! It was Buckingham.

So does this make it an official Buckingham Nicks Live CD???

Gah! I think whoever posted these took them down. Is there anyway someone could re-upload Crash?

Well, but remember, my tastes are a little weird. I've always loved my Stevie with a ****load of vibrato.

for example, check out "hills" (in "snow-covered hills") at the end of "Landslide" from the Aladdin in Vegas 1977.

In fact, would someone mind posting that really quickly? Just that one little part at the end?

Oh no, I always like my vibrato with a side of Stevie as well. But I feel like the auto-tune or whatever digital enhancements they've added to her voice have taken the emotion & usual vibrato out of her singing.

And here you go, in .wmv format:
