People suck. That's the be all and end all of it. They may present themselves to you in a pretty box in fourty bright ****ing colours with I love you's and words of endearmeant scrawled across all available space. They'll tell you what you want to hear and you'll believe them because Buddha forbid you see them for what they really are. Choose to see the kindly Witch rather than the embittered Queen. But once you peel back what's aestetichally pleasing, the stuff there to distract you while they steal your wallet, the inside of the box is rotten. Each day I grow more and more aware of this and more and more eager to convince myself that this is not the case. That there are people out there who can prove their worth and prove me wrong. I would adore them and bow down to the feet of the person who showed me that trust isn't merely a wasted platitude. But I've yet to meet them. They promise the world, but can't even deliver a small maisonette's worth of generosity when it comes to their compassion and time and willingness to be true. Yet we waste all that we have on promising them what we can and ensuring that we can deliver. I promise as much as I know I can deliver and I make sure that they come before me. But this tactic is flawed. Because it counts on the selflessness of the other party, and the fact that they have failed to realise how empty you are of your souls worth only proves that they are incapable of being selfless. They can't be the fantasy friend, parent, family or lover that you constructed in your mind. They can only be human. And for those of us who still dare to dream...that just isn't enough. So constantly we are dissappointed, left in the corner to lick our wounds while they dance in the glory of all you bestowed upon them.

The "total user" numbers have changed, over the years. I wasn't here for a couple of years, but in years previous, the server crashed, several times, and it was all reset, after each crash. I don't believe the numbers from from 2003-4, have been matched(I could certainly be wrong, but I don't think so).
