Things will get better. My best friend, and constant partner in crime, fell madly in love, 5 months ago. Since then, I'm lucky if I get to talk to him 5 minutes a week, now. 6-7 nights a week, hanging out, to 5 minutes a week(and that's if I force it). I feel like I've lost a huge part of myself.

BUT, life is what it is. I just have to file this under "sh*t happens", and move forward. Because that's all I can do.

Dentistry in my 20s was the beginning of my 20 year descent into loving percocet- I was in agonizing pain, took one, and not only was the pain gone, I was euphoric. Decided the following day I'd tough out the pain with Tylenol, and save the percocet for when I wasn't in pain.
It was a glorious introduction that I never quite recaptured. Some 12 years (?) after the dental experience, my shrink determined that I needed the drug, twice daily, and the euphoria I told her of was the tip-off, after every anti-depressant we tried had failed. Me and happy just never entwined.
If I had great, healthy teeth, I'd never have tried the drug.
Ah, Percocet. My one true love. I was given it when I had knee surgery, and loved them immediately. I had always been very depressed and suddenly I felt really good. Like you, I've tried many different drugs to try and capture that euphoric feeling and it's not happened. Happy I and have never been friends since.

The same thing happened to me, though my best friend is young, so it's not that official (but she swears she'll marry him. great.). It's hard to see that you're not that irreplacable anymore.

Well then I will try to refrain from rubbing it in your face, but SCORE! The dentist gave me a script for 30 Percs, which I just filled. But it's not for nothing... I think I was his first patient in history to march into the office and demand a root canal. He was skeptical at first and took x-rays, etc. But after some conductance testing and probing around, as I suspected, the problem tooth was straight up DOA and totally infected . I totally enjoyed getting a root canal... it was like manna from heaven compared to the hellish pain I've been in for the past couple of days. And to top it off, he only charged me $200 even though they crowbarred me into the schedule as an emergency. As Stevie says "there are angels here on earth..."

Interestingly, the wall of his examining room is lined with pictures of himself with various luminaries- Bill and Hillary Clinton, Mayor Bloomberg, Julian Moore, Rain Wilson (WTF??), etc. But right smack dab in the middle was this big picture of Carole King. I was jealous! And I wondered if she was one of his patients... but I never got around to making idle chatter since I was delirious with pain and sleep deprivation. Tonight it's going to be just me, a nice hummus salad, TV on demand and a pill or two or three.

Yeah, my best friend is only 22. I went from being the biggest constant in his life, to being completely erased.
And it doesn't help, that his new partner, is very selfish, and doesn't want him to have any friends(yes, I'm not the only one fired, we all have been).

He occasionally mentions my name, to a mutual friend of ours, so he's not completely forgotten me. But yes, it sucks, knowing that no matter how important they tell you, that you are to them, you can be kicked to the curb, at a moment's notice.

I got a box full of girl clothes delivered to my door today. Urban Outfitters sent me somebody else's order. I was so excited to open the box, and I see a bunch of girl tops. Whoever ordered this stuff has nice taste though. I don't know how long I'm going to have to wait to get my stuff now.

That sucks . I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe he'll come back, it's just the beginning of their relationship afterall. My situation is not that bad yet, cause i'm really almost fighting to keep a good relationship with my best friend, though her boyfriend litterally hates me. There was a time when she was telling me "if i have to choose between a guy and you, i'll choose you". But i just can't say anything, cause she's happy and all, and he might be the right guy for her... I'm just trying to see her, from time to time. But we still have other friends, right ? .

I'll PM you my address.

If I wasn't such an angel I could get a few from my mother. She just had major back surgery and her prescription is for 120 pills, 30 mg. *drool*
