Six months ago today, I randomly met someone who would, unbeknownst to me, be a big part of my day-to-day life months later.

It's funny how the tiny things in life all add up to produce an experience, and if one of those things had been slightly different, the experience never would have happened. It makes me believe in fate, and have hope and resilience when many other people would have given up. This can be a fault on my part, but I guess that's just my mentality.... destiny rules.

LOVER, YOU SHOULD'VE COME OVER!! One of my top three songs on that album... if I can narrow down a top three which is probably impossible.

I listened to that song and cried yesterday. "It's never over, my kingdom for a kiss upon her shoulder"..... LOVE.

That is a brilliant song. But Buckley was brilliant, in general, so it stands to reason. We lost him way too soon. Sigh.

All the same, baby. All the same.

"You never know what I'll do. I've resequenced my show. I'm a master at sequencing. I'm the one who sequenced for Fleetwood Mac. I sequenced 'Rumours.' Everyone loves my sequences. They're fun.''

Have you heard Sketches from My Sweetheart, The Drunk? Would've been just as brilliant if he was alive to finish the album

But "Grace," "Hallelujah," "Last Goodbye," "Mojo Pin" (current obsession), "Lover, You Should've Come Over," "Dream Brother".....

So perfect.

Lilac Wine was always my favourite of his. I love how each song is treated like a work of art, with the same amount of effort and love as the others. Some bands you can just get the vibe with some songs that they're just filler, and have been whipped up in ten minutes. Jeff must have worked painstakingly on each one of his masterpieces.

Love "Lilac Wine" too. Seriously the entire album is genius.

I have to speak in front of a somewhat large audience of Very Important People tomorrow and I am nervous! There's going to be a podium with a microphone.

I just realized today was the 15th anniversary of my biological Father's death. It's amazing how quickly time passes! It's actually just the reminder I needed, though... I've been laying low for too long... it's time to get busy living!

My understanding is there is no "time" in Heaven and everything is happening in God's "now" so loved ones who've passed know we'll be right along with them in a few "minutes" to them up there. Even though it could be another 80 years in earthly time. Makes sense really.

^^^Don't say " Very Important People," because , then you add the intimidation factor as well. Being nervous is normal. You said their is a podium, so hold on to that, and if you can't make eye contact, just pick a focal point at random, and speak to that. Deep breathes before you start, and just remember that they are the same as you "people".

Bringing a few Jello shots in a Ziploc bag wouldn't hurt.

Good Luck!

I'm trying to remember tips from my Public Speaking classes in college. One tip I remember was keeping something in your pocket which you can fiddle with your hands... like those relaxation stone thingies. Apparently it helps direct nervous energy into a repetitive task, and you can keep your focus on what you're saying instead of freaking out. Best of luck!!

You're gonna rock it. You just rock at life. Have a little faith in yourself-- you got the opportunity for a reason.
