I feel very sorry for Neil Finn. He is a very good songwriter. "Fall At Your Feet" is better than anything the Macsters have done since Tango. The thought that he would be forced to do karaoke to Never Going Back Again and GYOW makes me sick. Is he going to snuggle Stevie when he strums on Landslide?

All this makes me want to retch. I am beyond disgusted.

Shortly after Variety confirmed that Lindsey Buckingham had left the band, Fleetwood Mac announced plans to tour this Fall with two new members: Mike Campbell (longtime lead guitarist for Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers) and Neil Finn (Crowded House frontman), will be joining the Mac for their upcoming tour with final dates being confirmed shortly.

“Fleetwood Mac has always been about an amazing collection of songs that are performed with a unique blend of talents,” Mick Fleetwood said. “We jammed with Mike and Neil and the chemistry really worked and let the band realize that this is the right combination to go forward with in Fleetwood Mac style. We know we have something new, yet it’s got the unmistakable Mac sound.”

“We are thrilled to welcome the musical talents of the caliber of Mike Campbell and Neil Finn into the Mac family. With Mike and Neil, we’ll be performing all the hits that the fans love, plus we’ll be surprising our audiences with some tracks from our historic catalogue of songs,” said the group collectively. “Fleetwood Mac has always been a creative evolution. We look forward to honoring that spirit on this upcoming tour.”

Fleetwood Mac was founded by Peter Green in 1967 and was named after Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. After Peter Green left in 1969, Fleetwood and McVie remained as original members, and the band has since featured a cast of brilliant talents. Most notably, Christine McVie joined the band in 1970, with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham joining in 1974.

The statement concludes: “Lindsey Buckingham will not be performing with the band on this tour. The band wishes Lindsey all the best.”

Jeeze. I'm stunned.
He didn't. And I'm mad at the 4 of them. This is unbelievable.

Default How I'm feeling right now...

It's an old quote but...

You can only mend the vase so many times before you have to chuck it away.

I don't know. Neale and Brett are only on FM camp now. So, Lindsey will need new people before going on the road again.

What. the. hell.

I can't believe they are doing this. I'd rather them all go their separate ways and do their solo projects than this.

ETA: They also handled this very poorly. I think it was very crass of Billy to break the news, as well.

I think I'm going to be sick. This is just awful, extremely disappointing. I'm literally at a loss for words.

I think its a way of saying 'We wont be singing Lindsey's song but Neil Finn will be singing a load of Peter Green/Bob Welch songs (as well as Fall at Your Feet, Don't Dream Its Over and the great Fleetwood Mac encore crowd pleaser- Weather With You'.

Well. At least I got to see the classic lineup once before I died. Or one of them did. I don’t see them getting back together unless it’s for another Classic West/east moneygrab reunion

Emotionally, it's a replay of 1987. (What was the name of that movie where the person kept waking up and reliving the day over and over?) Next year, we'll get a Greatest Hits CD with a couple of lame new songs on it and an orange blossom on the cover, followed by a full album produced by a heavy metal guy with a tin ear, followed by a world tour with several of the members on steroids and putting on weight. The band will go out with a slow-motion explosion and a wing nut, probably playing the second-tier stage at the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl.

Love really is dangerous!
