And in all since, you have the free will to do as you wish. The marriage amendment action that is taken place is from religious Americans that have a God given right to express that they want to verify that the unique joining of one man and one woman is what marriage is and who its for.

If you want to live with the same sex, express your feelings for them, get a civil union with them...go ahead (I may not agree, but that doesn’t mean that you don't have that right).

But some feel that they need to protect what is sacred to them, the unique joining and relationship between one man and one woman, and I feel that it is our right to do so.

I'd like to know what Scripture you're referring to, as well. Not the story in general, the Scripture that states the two had a sexual relationship.

I took a look at 1 Samuel, ch 20, in its entirety and this verse in particular caught my eye: "and Jonathan caused David to swear again, because he loved him: for he loved him as he loved his own soul" verse 17
that sounds mighty passionate for two men friends

What alot of christians say is:

"Homosexuality in itself is not a sin, because the bible is silent about that. But the actual partaking in homosexual activities is a sin, because the bible is not silent on that."

Im just saying that that is MOST christians way of looking at the subject.

but neither does it say that they were intimate or lovers.

I can say about Peter that he loved Jesus as his own soul...as I do. That didn't make Peter and Jesus more than "friends"

Dear, the Bible doesn't mention purgatory by name either, nor does is say that Mary was crowned Queen of Heaven. Christians disagree on how to administer baptism, for heaven's sake. This obsession about homosexuality is bigoted and hateful.

Here's my beef with this:

People can point out verses in the Bible that do not pertain to them and call it wrong...a sin. However, there are verses in the Bible that do pertain to them that point out what is wrong and right but somehow they say "yes I know this, but I will be forgiven". Since being gay doesn't pertain to them, they think everything about it is wrong, but they are committing sins, just like I am. sure, they can say that they have gay friends and what not, but homosexuals cannot act upon it? It doesn't make sense to me and that's why I get so defensive. I'm attracted to men, not by choice.....so I have to live in constant defense mode when a point like this is brought up. I tried everything in my power not to be gay. I went to church.....I prayed about it.....I tried to deny it by dating women.....but I can't change who I am and who I love. If loving a man is a great sin, then so be it. I'm not living in sadness.....If I want to get married, then I will. It's my choice and mine alone.
