It's going to be a fun week seeing Stevie on two different shows!

I've had such a crappy week this week, so this comes at a perfect time.

Now if they would just announce some dates west of friggin' Houston I'd be over the moon! Heck, I'd even settle for Vegas at this point.

Who's songs will they be doing? I might just have to watch, for once.

I'm wondering if Stevie will be performing as well...isn't that what most of the mentors do at the conclusion of their mentorship?
The guest mentors don't always perform. At the very least, we will get short clips of Stevie imparting her musical wisdom in her own peculiar way.

If she does sing, I just hope it's not the usual Landslide, Rhiannon or Dreams...or Secret Love. I would like to hear a newer song, perhaps For What It's Worth or Moonlight.

Is it a two-night deal, or just one?
(for recording purposes, you know)

This should be pretty great! My current favourite contestant is Skylar Laine!

I watch the show faithfuly, and it's very unlikely that Stevie will perform if she's a mentor.

For those of you that don't watch, each week there is a musical theme - when the contestants have picked their songs and start rehearsing them, they work with the mentor who advises them on pitch, harmony, when to carry out a note, and other little tips for the best way to sing the song.

Sometimes you don't even see the mentor on the live part of the show - just in recorded clips from rehearsals earlier in the week. If they are on the live part of the show, it's to sit in the audience and watch the contestants perform.

Kudos to you for saying that. I have not watched Idol since Paula left. Love her so much. Tuning in for Stevie next week will be the first time I will watch an entire episode since 2009.

Id much rather Stevie be a guest judge on the show it would be so much more interesting & entertaining, actually that would be pretty damn awesome to hear her comments Anyway its still going to be great to see mentoring on the show Fortunately they televise American Idol here in OZ

I don't know. I remember several instances where the mentor performed, but it's always the following night on the live results show. They have a whole hour to tell you who is eliminated, so to fill the time there are usually two performances. One is often a past contestant; the other could be the week's mentor or anyone with something to promote.

This is the first season I've chosen not to watch and then THIS happens?! I will be watching for sure! I cannot wait to see Stevie coaching! Never seen that before. Looking forward!
