Okay, I have to ask about this. Did you honestly think Punky was funny? When you watch it now do you think it's good? And if so, is it good for nostalgic reasons, or do you actually think it's good? sorry, but during the big punky craze at my school I watched the show and thought it was really trite, etc. Maybe I missed something?
Oh, and - LHOP was good, i'd watch that again.

I got the first season for purely nostalgic reasons - but watching it - there are episodes I really like still....and some I don't.

I don't like the episodes that are split into little like segments...like when Henry takes the kids fishing or walks them to school...

But I like the full episodes - I don't find them uproariously funny - but they're still entertaining to me

I don't find it funny (though I did as a six year old), I just find it entertaining and good to watch for nostalgic reasons. The same cannot be said for Small Wonder... I didn't find Gilligan's Island funny in the least, but people love that show. It's a mystery to me.

I have a hard time envisioning a little kid watching Punky and finding it "trite," though. Maybe unappealing, but not "trite."

Remember they shot some of them as 15 minute epsiodes because of Sunday football? I used to get so mad.

And I still laugh my ass off at Mrs. Garret and Henry. They're hilarious and had great chemistry.

Right there are shows that I used to watch that I now realize are just bad - Small Wonder is one of them...

Gilligan's Island is another...

Sadly I can no longer watch Three's Company though I loved that as a kid....

Anyone remember that one show, Out of This World? Where the girl could freeze time by touching her finger tips together??

well, I was 10 or so. I just thought the acting sucked, and the plotlines were unbelievable and the dialogue was overly sappy. I think trite is a good word for all that. Perhaps i didn't think of the word "trite" when i was 10, but...I might have. I think i did wish, however, that my hair was straight like punky's...

Yes, I kind of liked that show. Mainly cause there was magic powers in it...ooo, magic powers...

I thought the stories were pretty believable for a TV show, honestly. That is, up until Henry and Punky opened up "Punky's Place." I didn't care for that last season at all.

I can only watch the first three seasons. It lost all of its magic after the third season, IMO.

You did? My goodness. Well, I don't remember the plotlines too well, maybe it was the lines that i thought were so unbelievable. I don't know, it always struck me as pure syrup.

I think the slapstickyness appealed to me as a kid...now however...I just found it a bit annoying. I did always like Larry though

And a good friend of mine used to go Joyce DeWitt hunting in Santa Fe because we heard that she had a store there

I can definitely get behind three's company... I thought it was ok with the third terry, or whatever, but the middle blond chick just stank, stank, stank. larry was cool. Lana was cool.

The new writers for the last two seasons of 'Golden Girls,' were Jamie Wooten and Marc Cherry (of 'Desperate Houswives' fame)... both of whom are gay.

Sorry, I just had to point that out.
