Emotions can accelerate physical conditions I believe, although there is no scientific evidence to support it.

So many times a spouse dies within a year or two of their partner. It's just very tragic it happened at such a young age. It's particularly difficult when children are left without both parents.

This is so sad. I can't imagine what their family is going through. May God bless them all. She with the love of her life again. RIP, Dana and Chris.

I watched Walk the Line this past weekend, and was reminded that Johnny died just 4 months after June's death.

I feel bad for her son. It is very sad. Why do the good ones die young? It is pretty scary knowing that she was a non-smoker, too.

i was watching a clip of dana last night on msnbc & it was from this past january, she was singing at a function, i think for a hockey player (i missed that part) & you could tell she was wearing a wig, but she sang & looked beautiful~ you could tell she was somewhat suffering, but i can't belive how fast she went, i too think her heart was so broken~ i wish nothing but love & support for their son~

As sad as it is, it made me happy to think of them this way too. Very sweet.

I think there is some scientific evidence to support that actually. For example, anger has been linked to heart disease. Also, stress suppresses the immune system opening the door to disease. http://www.womensmedia.com/health-emotion.html

Exactly. I believe that is partly why Dana got the disease. She had to be completely stressed out and run down taking care of Christopher for nine years which then weakened her immune system. Then his death was the final toll that took any last strength she may have had to fight off this horrible disease.

I don't think this is anything new. In the romantic era, especially 18th Century, people were dying from grief left and right. Especially romantics who had their hearts broken, they would just waste away from simple, plain grief.
