I'm just getting excited doing the research.....

Did you know that one way to beat stress is by planning a vacation, even if you never take it?

1 allday pass to Dollywood? $50
cost of hotel and traveling expenses? $300
seeing various Ledgies puke after riding rollercoasters? priceless.

Really? That is interesting.

I find that more often than not it only induces stress for me. But I guess that is because I can never seem to take a relaxing vacation, I always try to cram as much in there as possible. Two weeks on the beach in Florida is not for me. There are these people to meet, those shows to go to, those places to see.

First single from Dolly's new album! Better Get To Livin'. This is a homemade video by someone on YouTube. The song's not her best and kind of sounds like her so-so songs from the 80's and 90's. But even Dolly's so-so songs are a delight for me!

^^I swear, only Dolly can get away with using her first name in a song and make it cute!

I'm not listening cause I want to wait to get the album and listen to it all as new. I am so tempted every time I see her face on the iTunes homepage, but I'm trying to restrain.

It's so funny to me that you guys are so excited over Dollywood. I don't mean that disrespectfully in any way, either. I grew up about an hour from it. As a local, it's just kind of one of those things that makes you say, "people come here for THAT? why on earth would you travel to this?" Now, it's getting a lot better, but it started out as like, this little hokey place called Silver Dollar City.. totally hee-haw.. and only rednecks went. It's bigger now and there are lots of tourists in the Smoky Mtn park, so they're continually adding to it. But honestly, the parts that are like, ABOUT Dolly are not all over the place; the replica home/museum thing is very quaint.. humbling really. Then, you get to the crafter area and all the demonstrations and such, and that's very interesting to see how people lived then.

They have changed out the rides quite a bit though... some of my childhood favorites are gone, I believe. And, you hear in the news about once a year that they're adding some ridiculously expensive big thing. For the last couple years, it's been about Dolly's Splash Country. You couldn't pay me enough money to go there, though.

As a side note, Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg/Dollywood are very, very pretty during Christmas time. Lots of decorations and lights. And, it's the best chance for snow around here. The best deal is to get 4 or 5 people to rent a Gatlinburg cabin together, and there are lots. Booze it up, chill in the hot tub, play some pool or whatever, head to the park one day, go out shopping the next. If FM tours again while I'm still living in this area, that's what I'm gonna do for a Knoxville show.
