Those are my 2 votes as well. My third vote is Given Thing.

Well, that makes me happy. I didn't want UTS 2. And I'm not a UTS hater at all. I loved it at that time.

Perhaps some he could borrow the title from another 19th century poet ala Out of the Cradle and Gift of Screws.

I think he should just call it Public Domain.

Gift of Screws 2 - I think I could handle that. I'm sure he'll bring something new to the table to differentiate it but will still keep the great folk-pop of GOS.

i thought this was interesting description from somebody who has been on both sides (major label i guess, and also indie way, and doing stuff on his/their own) in the last 20+ years and from vinyl through CDs to purely digital to pitching stuff to the radio etc. it is from david lowery, of both cracker and camper van beethoven.

admittedly i wasnt the greatest fan lindseys solo career at first but i have grown to love his solo work especially Go Insane and Under The Skin. Unlike stevies i find that that everytime Lindsey brings something new out its original. Hopefully this new album gets the recognistion it diserves.

This was an interesting article. Should explain why Stevie tours so much. It's the only way for musicians to make money these days.

I hope it does too

...and wecome to The Ledge GOINGiNSANE

It seems like a fair number of people are kind of slow to warm to Lindsey's solo stuff - but then once they start feeling it, there's no turning back! True for some of his FM stuff as well. I wasn't too fond of any of his songs on Tusk at first, but now I can't get enough of that album!

Have you heard OOTC or GOS yet??

Maybe it depends on when you become a fan. If, like me, you've been a fan of Bucky and the Mac for 30 years or more, you're hooked into their stuff as soon as it happens - I know I have always been. Perhaps if you're quite new to their music it takes a little time to digest it all and grow to appreciate it.

thanks for reading it. yeah, like when he describes a need for endless touring of fairs and casinos, doing nth version of "Low" to pay for his kids college... kind of like FM doing rumours over and over, stevie doing EO17, and LB's holiday road suddenly being all over the place... gotta start thinking of that college fund

and, it took him 3 years from putting the song out on youtube, and advertising it through friends and publicists, to CD being released through a label next month (but he claims he didn't really plan to release it other than through youtube/social media). hope we really see that new LB CD this may, and not 3 years from now

I am very intrigued/excited by the concept of a Gift of Screws 2--I wonder if that signifies a continuation, a repetition, or a radicalization?

Also, I wonder when we will get a taste of the music: a single? When was DYMM released in relation to GOS's release?

At the very least, I hope we will hear something streaming on the website soon.

Imagine paying $1000 to hear "Don't Dream It's Over" instead of "Go Your Own Way"

Fleetwood Mac helped me through a time of heartbreak. 12 years later, they broke my heart.

Amazon.com has the release date for 'Did You Miss Me' as July 29,2008. The GOS album was released September 16, 2008.

With UTS and GOS they were sort of surprise announcements from Lindsey's camp about 2 or 3 months before the album was due so if it's to be out in May-ish I'd expect an announcement some time next month.
