I'm so curious too! I'm especially curious about how long it was and if you were able to enter the venue before the general public. Really want to make sure I snag a standing spot by the stage! Thanks!

Thing is, security came and made the people who had staked out a place at the stage move before the show. So, even those who were there earliest went back to their seats -- but they ran up again as soon as the lights went down. Michele |

Thanks for your reply! That's good to know. Security is so strange- it tends to vary from venue to venue I feel. I've been pretty lucky that the majority of the venues I've been to have included very friendly, laid back guards. I once had one walk me to my seat and tell me to quickly claim my standing spot by the stage! Hoping that happens again! Glad you had a good time!

They let us in at 5:30 but you have a host who takes you to your Meet and Greet.

Can you leave the venue after the meet and greet or is it once you're in, you're in? What questions were asked and answered?
I will be attending tomorrow, so looking for some guidance. Thanks! |

Good question about leaving the venue. I would prefer it if they would just give me my ticket and let me leave for 2.5 hours. Go get somethng to eat or something. Michele

I am surprised that there hasn't been a detailed account of the meet and greet yet. |

For those wanting more detailed info about the M&G:
At the Columbus M&G, we showed up at 5:30 as directed and were sent over to the box office to get our tickets. Then we had to go back to our “host” to be “checked in” (basically he just ticked our name off on the list). Then we waited some more. He explained that we were waiting for Mick to get ready and attempted to give us instructions. He didn’t seem super clear on the process himself, though, so I will spare you the confusing instructions. When word came that they were ready for us we were walked into the arena (we were actually backstage for all of maybe 30 seconds) until we emerged in front of the stage. They said they were going to send us across the stage one at a time to have our picture made with Mick and then there would be a Q&A after where we could ask Mick “maybe 3-4 questions from the group.” Then Mick came out and told them to let us all up on the stage for a Q&A. So we stood on the stage as he talked and answered questions. Then we did the photos. (One per person so you could have them arranged however you wanted. For example, a group of two could have both people in one photo and then one of them could still have an individual shot). We were told we couldn’t use our own cameras, but some people got some candid shots anyway as they were only halfheartedly enforcing it. (Also very strict instructions not to touch ANYTHING on the stage, which was a shame because Stevie’s mic was very shiny and just begging to be touched ) We each exited the stage after our photos. Then Mick came down in front of the stage to sign things. They said only one item per person and no personalizations, but Mick signed multiple items and personalized if asked. Again, it seemed like they were still trying to figure everything out, and it was all a little disorganized. I think this actually worked to our advantage, though. They told Mick that next time they’d have him sign things on the stage as the photos were taken, but Mick asked the group if we’d prefer that or this and everyone said, “This!” so I don’t know how that will turn out in the future. Finally they pretty much dragged Mick away. He was very talkative and friendly. They still haven’t provided us with the pictures yet though. After Mick left they made us leave and go back to the arena entrance (another 30 seconds on the outskirts of backstage!). We were told that this was the arena’s decision, so this might vary among venues. However, we were allowed to wait inside the lobby, and we were still in front of the people waiting outside for the doors to open. They also pre-scanned our tickets for us so that the moment they announced doors we were all able to just go on in and grab spots at the stage if that's what we wanted to do. As someone else mentioned, however, they eventually sent everyone back to their seats. The nice security lady I was standing by told me that this wasn’t what they had originally been instructed to do, though. She said they were supposed to let people stand at the stage at the whole time but that since so many people sitting in the first few rows were complaining her boss made the call to send them back until the show started. But she said that once the show started they wouldn’t be able to enforce it, which of course they didn’t. So basically all it accomplished was security had to hear less complaining before the show while causing a free-for-all once the lights went down. Still, the M&G experience was excellent. I must admit, I wasn’t expecting much (I really only bought the package for the seat), but I was very impressed in the end. I'd be interested to hear from anyone who went to the Philly M&G to know what, if anything, was different! |

Slight changes since opening night.
The guy was VERY detailed, pre-seeing Mick (perhaps they realized that it seems indecisive before). We were not to take cameras out, or we'd be "removed" from the meet and greet and escorted out. We were not to even take out phones for texting. Once inside the venue, we were in. Don't touch any equipment on the stage whatsoever...especially Stevie's mic. Mick was only to sign one thing. No personalizations. Could ask as many questions as time permitted. Now, Michele--I'm not sure about MSG--but, I got my ticket, pre-Meet and Greet--at the box office. It was waiting for me at Will Call. So, theoretically, you could just leave, if they do the same at the Garden. |
