Hey, what prompt did you use for the statement?

Mine was basically pretending that I'm doing a writing project with a group of kids of different nationalities and religions and other jazz. The project has to be done in a week, and I have to explain how my background with diversity will help me to successfully collaborate with the others to do the project.

I'm headed to Michigan State University (hopefully).

I used this website for my basic outline and found it a really big help http://www.studential.com/guide/writ..._statement.htm

I just nicely exaggerated how much I like Media Studies, what it means to me and where I want to take it etc.

My tutor has been through mine with me and pointed out what's good and what's wasting characters etc so I think I'm set

JTIS my middle-aged aunt is sending Sexy MySpace Angle Photos to my phone.

I think she means to send them to someone else.

At least, I HOPE she means to send them to someone else.

*shudder*

I'm thinking of moving into a dorm for my third year of Uni. Do they have rules on pinning fabric to the walls? I hate the stark white they always paint them. I can't live in such a pale room lol.

I've seen many dorm rooms and notice that people re decorate them to their liking, including painting walls. So go and do whatever the eff you'd like baby.

They let you paint? *Squee* Alrighty then. All I need is three friends, balloons and paint. By the time I'm finished, A rainbow would probably call my room gaudy XD

Really? I don't know of any dorms that allow you to paint. Many won't let you tack fabric and junk up, either, due to fire hazards. I never went to college, but of my friends that did, most of them had incredibly strict rules about the changes they could make to their rooms.

My guess is that- at most places- you can paint the walls... they'll just take the cost of re-painting them out of your security deposit, or something.

Hmm. Maybe. I'm a cheap bastard, so I wouldn't want to risk that, myself.

I'd suggest just reading the rules for your particular school, Bee. That way, you don't end up with any untoward financial surprises and/or school officials in jackboots jabbing at your kneecaps with blunt instruments.

Also, Dani, I like that you took the TISL album flat to Seattle. It's like a wee part of me lives in one of my fav cities now. I'm such a nerd.

Hehe. When you put it like that it just feels like a challenge to me. Last year I had to pay a £50 downpayment at the beginning of the year for materials despite the fact that we saw sweet eff all of this as we were made to buy our own materials. So I'm just gonna say that the paint can come out of the first downpayment and they can kiss my bum if they try and argue it. It's my Mum's fault. She is the world's best at arguing her cause and winning so I'd probably have no problem if I let her handle the situation lolz!

Haha, fair enough. Do what you do, madam! I'm usually squicky about my security deposits, because as I said above, I'm a cheap bastard - mostly because I'm also a poor bastard.

Of course, that didn't stop me from drilling approximately one metric f*ck-ton of holes in the walls of my old house so I could hang all my Stevie/Mac albums all around the house, but hey!

My new house here in Saint Louis, I'd originally planned on buying it, but after all of the insane crap the owner has been putting me through, I'm just going to lease it until I find somewhere better and can actually afford to move again. I have permission to paint and do whatever I want, which the place really needs, but I'm now adverse to spending any money making the house nicer when I'm not planning on living here very long. Meh. It is sad, because this house could be REALLY fun if I fixed it up a bit more.

Ahhhh...dorms. We were not allowed to paint it ourselves, but my mom called and griped to the Housing Office and they did end up painting it.

Dani, your room looks great.
