From Here to Eternity
Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid I was surprised the beach scene in From Here to Eternity occurred so early in the movie and was over in nearly an instant. Don't know what else I was expecting... It made a much better still photo, perhaps that was the draw. It nearly was lost in the film entirely. Frank Sinatra was a gem in this movie. There was so much going on with the character Prewitt, other character building and footage of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, it made the ending seem almost laughable. Butch Cassidy was almost futuristic in comparison to all the 1940s era movies I've been watching. It had the tell-tale presence of that early 1970s film style where there are scenes that the actors don't speak at all and the foley artist throws in a few odd sounds here and there. I will always love the bicycle scene though, the Raindrops song and Paul Newman hamming it up big time. He was so great in that movie. Robert Redford was hotter looking than all get out. Not sure what's up next. I see Netflix added 1984 into my streaming queue... hmmm, so many movies... so little time. |

I saw that... I think it was on IMDB. What some performers will do for their art, eh? It's neat to check in on IMDB before watching a movie then look for the inconsistencies or bits of trivia. |

"You're a helluva CARD-player, fella! And I oughta know - 'cause *I'm* a helluva card player. And I can't even spot how you was cheatin'! . . . ." [chairs scrape as everybody gets the hell outta there... ] "The MONEY stays and you go." Then Newman comes in and supposedly tries to calm things down, but is really looking for a way to knock the guy out - but fails, and so says, "I can't help you, Sundance..." " . . . . I didn't know you wuz the Sundance KID when I said you wuz cheatin'! . . . If I DRAW on you you'll KILL me!" Sundance: "There's that possibility..." I just absolutely love the performance from Newman and most especially Redford, especially the way his eyes track everything that moves - but when nothing's moving, he's just intensely staring forward, apparently in a rage; DEFINITELY 100% in gun-fighting mode. i.m.o. he played the whole scene with complete perfection... P.S. - also . . . "Somebody shout '1-2-3 go!' " "1-2-3 go!" [knocks him out]

The Other Man
Liam Neeson and Antonio Banderas star in this horrible movie. The movie trailer made the movie look worth watching, but trust me, don't blow your money on this one. Lame! Adventureland Kristen Stewart stars in this one, and it turned out to be pretty good. Reminded me of a Summer Park I used to work at years ago with all the craziness that was going on. Worth watching. |

We are in a deep freeze here (southern Indiana) so, I have lots of movie watching time! It's way too cold to be out!!
1. Julie and Julia: loved it! I had no idea Julia Child was so cool. 2. UP: also loved it! This kids movie was not really a kids movie at all. Very much worth watching. 3. Coraline: My cousin loves Tim Burton, so, I watched it with her. This was very visually stimulating with all the special computer effects. I like the story line as well. |

Extract - Jason Bateman and Mila Kunis are in this movie and even though its suppossed to be a comedy its more of a drama. It was an ok movie.
All About Steve - Sandar Bullock was so annoying in the beginning of this movie that I almost turned it off but it got much better and I acutally ended up liking it. It has a good message in it. 500 Days of Summer - The movie started out slow but got better towards the end. Overall it was a cute movie. Funny People - not much funny about this movie since it was more of a drama but I thought it was a pretty good movie. It was nice to see Adam Sandler in a more serious role. I have The Final Destination at home on blu ray 3D so looking forward to watching this. Has anybody seen Sherlock Holmes yet? |

Yes, it's good, silly fun. If you're a fan of the novels you probably won't like it, so I've heard. I've never read them so I wasn't bothered by all the changes to his character.

Ooh no, I am a huuuuge lover of the novels and I thought the film was absolutley fantastic! They did change his character yes, but the way the scriptwriter stuck to Conan Doyle's structure of the stories was fantastic. Best money I've spent going to see a film in a long long time
