Default Didn't think the day would arrive but..

I'm happy I'm just an occasional poster on the Ledge when it comes to things like this...

Means I can lurk in relative obscurity.

Wonderful!

Will Rogers, if you prefer, Brian. I chose Mark Twain because he endured several tragedies & hardships later in his life, & yet maintained his comic outlook on life, as evidenced by the letters he wrote to Andrew Carnegie, the New York Times & the gas company.

Was it very dark in the venue? Surely had they seen you, they wouldn't have done it on purpose

You're right, she just tripped on it as it was hanging across the aisle.

Let me clarify: surely had she seen your mug, she wouldn't have tried to tune in Tokyo.

I prefer either, But the image of Mark Twain made me think of the scene in "Robin Hood:Men in Tights" where Robin of Locksley is shooting in an archery contest wearing a Mark Twain mask

Mark Twain-"Throughout his career, Samuel Langhorne Clemens (Mark Twain) published more than 30 books, hundreds of short stories and essays and gave lecture tours around the world. By the end of his life in 1910, Clemens had become known as the quintessential American author having captured in his works the spirit, character and even dialect of a diverse nation. His writing also served to voice his running commentary on American society. Thinly veiled behind the mask of humor and satire, Clemens' writing often critiqued social morals, politics and human nature, making his literature a unique reflection of the American experience in the latter part of the nineteenth century."
