It pains me to say it but their three voices were okay, more than okay.
I don’t like Stevie’s voice on Gypsy, it’s too harsh, she should try singing quieter and more mellow. I couldn’t hear Johns solo on The Chain, technical hitch I presume. Stevie and Christine looked fabulous.. But it ain’t the same, no point looking across to Neil when singing The Chain with knowing looks, it don’t work. It’s just not the same. |

It sounds like a cover band.
Christine McVie is aging in reverse and I love her wardrobe change!! She's actually playing electric keys on The Chain. I could hear her little glissando, from time to time. Not sure why she always needs a supplemental organist. It's not like she's Tony Banks covering Genesis. $tevie it seems has even less notes on Gypsy. I wonder how weak Silver Springs will be if they do it. She looked a bit sleepy or something. $tevie, please for the love of God wear something else. Mike, I loved where he was going with the solo on CHAIN. But, it almost didn't fit and seemed a bit off in places timing wise. I'm glad he didn't try to be LB. Mick was great! Love his outfit. And I too, couldn't hear John. Neil looks bored. Or scared he has to look at $tevie for a year.

Alright so I watched with an open mind and open ears. Gypsy was okay, Stevie was doing Stevie like she always does. The Chain, however, was rough. And that is putting it nicely. I realize the mixing was off but the chemistry felt off. I hate using this because it insults the other members but it truly did sound like a tribute act. The only thing I will praise is Campbell's guitar work but even that was not the energy level Buckingham brought.
If this is any indication what the tour will be like, I am glad I am skipping it. Last edited by KenshiMaster16; 09-05-2018 at 10:20 AM.. |

What a complete and utter embarrassment.

Not bad considering they probably had a lot of nerves it being the first try at a public performance. I think they will work the kinks out as time goes on.
Christine was smiling so much! Loved that little taste of Mike's guitar, I think he is going to do so well once he has some time to open up. |

Any worse than the time Lindsey started playing the intro to GYOW instead of Peacekeeper on the Today show?

One thing, I know Christine seems to think she needs another person on keys to back her up these days, but with Mike playing that little piece in Gypsy, it was getting a little crowded up there with three of them going at once.

I thought they sounded pretty bland.
I expected Mike to stretch out more on solos. No guitar solo on Gypsy? Isn’t that weird? Hoping they ramp up and get a little more comfortable before they come to LA. It felt very snoozy. I missed Lindsey. Even off-pitch Lindsey. |

That’s been the case since 1984.

To be fair, it's become worse. She actually had a little expansion during the Shaking Cage and BTM tours. Some solos and I could actually hear her. She covered the Dance very nicely on SSprings and Rhiannon intro. People are paying to hear you because you've come back.
Why do you need 2 keyboardists on ISA? It's an organ part. It's chords!!! (I'm referring to Brett on OWTS tour and BuckVie.) I'm not sure if she was actually playing during BuckVie when the full band was on. This Ellen show: It seems very lazy to me to have 2 other keyboard players including the lead guitarist doing your part. I couldn't hear what she was doing on Gypsy. I will give her elec. keys credit on Chain.

Honestly, this was worse than I expected. These are terrific top class recording musicians (Finn and Campbell) who sounded like they were in a cover band. Lindsey's talent as a producer is never questioned, but his stage presence and performance abilities, and what he brought to this band on stage are sometimes overlooked. Not anymore.

I liked the new solo on The Chain but that was about it. It really had the feel of being the Stevie Nicks show. This voices sounded good together... Didn’t care for Mick or Stevie’s outfits. Not good, in my opinion.
