p.s. Kate has DSLs.

So you're not really Stevie ca. 1994?

I've been living a meaningless lie.

I've been a fan of Patti's since HORSES. I think that EASTER is one brilliant piece of work (Jimmy Iovine produced that, didnt he?). In my book, she ranks high among the poets. She is a true original.
I have only seen Patti perform live once but it was a killer. I did not buy her last two releases even though the cover CD got great reviews, I might need to pick that up.
Of her later work, there is one that was so outstanding but I cant recall the title now...its the one that has "The Southern Cross" (I think thats the title)on it...the CD was all about her late husband and it was a gorgeous release. ON EDIT: The CD is called GONE AGAIN. Im putting it on now...rbs

Anyway, much love for Patti over here in Texas!

She's truly one of the most inspiring people I've come across. She's so tiny, but she commands such a great presence, even if she's just standing in one spot. Everything she says is with such conviction and fervor that you believe it simply because she believes it, and she makes you feel like you really can make a difference in the world. And she's so funny and adorable, too.

"Gone Again" is probably my favorite album of hers, followed very closely by "Horses," but there's so much great stuff buried in her catalog that it's hard to say for sure.

And that's why I'd want to hang out with her for dinner. I'm a total Patti windchild.

I remember when WAVE came out, one of my best friends (who is now gone) used to correspond with Patti's mom, who ran her fan club at the time. She had these incredible photo's and letters. We would sit in her room, smoke pot and listen to WAVE and disect every single song to bits. It's no wonder that "Dancing Barefoot" is one of my top 10 songs of all time. Brilliant.

It would be very cool to have dinner with Patti but I have a feeling that she would totally blow me away. I'd rather have a long night at a bar for that.

And, just so everyone's clear on that... that's the kind of windchild who doesn't even have a "~" key.
