The boat woman and her family made it. It was, of course an 80 foot long, 110+ ton steel boat. Lucky her - though there is no way I would have done it.

Bush his credit.

FEMA been great and the administration has worked closely with the D Gov. and the senior Senator from Louisiana, a D. W, in fact, signed the necessary paperwork early enough so the stuff could be there prior to the actual emergency. So, though I am no fan of his, I give him his props here - maybe he learned from his father's mishandling of Andrew.

I watched on CNN a man being rescued by Coast Guard helicoptors. That was the first time I've cried on this one.

Hillary, glad to know you're OK.

If those people on those roofs had a way out and stayed for the hell of it or were just being stubborn - they ought to have to pay the bill for that rescue. The reason I say this is their "choice" and subsequent rescue could cause the death of another less fortunate person who could not flee.

wow. i used to visit my aunt and uncle in Gulf Port when i was a teenager. The waterfront was such a cool area with the casinos on the barges and the old plantation- like houses with the wrap- around porch. it's hard to believe that's all flooded and destroyed now.
