I like some Martina stuff - especially When God Fearin' Women Get The Blues, her cover of You Ain't Woman Enough, Swingin' Doors and Safe In The Arms Of Love...

Nick Cave's version of "Looky Looky Yonder/Black Betty/Yellow Women's Doorbells" live at Pinkpop, 1990. I love a lot of the different versions of these songs floating around, but Cave's is one of my most favorite.

And, of course, Lindsey's homage to "Black Betty" in "Murrow Turning Over in His Grave" is also up there on my list!

C'mon, stomp it out, boys! Rockin.

I remember being about 8 years old and finding that album in my mom's vinyl collection. I absolutely ADORED the sleeve art.

No surprise there! Have you heard the album?

You never cease to surprise me with your music/pop culture taste! I grew up on that album (my Mom played it to DEATH!), but haven't heard it in nearly 20 years until recently. For some reason "Seven Year Ache" and "Blue Moon with Heartache" crept back into my mind, and I've been listening to this album a lot lately myself! I'd forgotten just how gorgeous Rosanne's voice was.

I've been listening to Sheryl Crow: 100 Miles From Memphis the past few days and am really enjoying it. Who knew Sheryl could pull off funk/soul so naturally?

Mat Kearney: Nothing Left To Lose. Mat's got an interesting personal style going on: a little country, a little pop, a little folk, a little rock, a little hip hop. It's always come across to me as being utterly fresh, though.

Gin Wigmore: Holy Smoke. I keep hearing her on the radio since moving back to Austin, and finally had to track down the album. Gin's kind of a wannabe Amy Winehouse in my book, but is still fun to listen to.

I love Seven Year Ache, it's just brilliant. Same goes for her cover of Hometown Blues, with Emmylou on backing vocals. I actually got this album, Right or Wrong and Somewhere In The Stars all for £1 each - result!

louie - that's quite a complement. I like to amaze!

I do like Sheryl's new album but it takes a little time to grow on you. I think the first track, Our Love Is Fading, is one of the best tracks she's done in years. I really don't like the cover of I Want You Back though, she seems to be trying too hard to sound like a young Michael Jackson.
