Look Publicist, put the brakes on that reporter from The Main Street Daily Breeze but if Rolling Stone wants to interview your man for 3 hours, just let it go.

Michele
No problem and totally agreed! Settle down there publicist! What's the rush?!

Well, I'm sure he's had to listen to Stevie detail all of the reasons she sequenced Rumours the way she did for the past 4 decades...

I don't know what to say about this interview. I am going to have to process this for a bit longer, except to say that I feel like Lindsey might actually get in trouble. And things were going so well!

Also, I want to slap the interviewer for suggesting they play the entire Rumours album. I love Rumours as much as the next guy, but that's impossible... is Songbird just going to be an instrumental? No, it won't work.

This Rolling Stone Q&A w Stevie & Lindsey is disturbing on so many levels. For me it just confirms what many here have already surmised over the many years. Stevie & Lindsey have not been on the same page probably since the White Album and never will...EVER again.

It's strange and a total pivot from when Stevie's initial press interviews for IYD early in 2011, she was totally down for recording a FM record, esp. if Dave Stewart was the de facto producer.

So what changed her mind?

Was she in fact so distraught that her mother passed away un-expectantly, that she really could not bring herself to record with the boys last spring before embarking on her 2012 IYD summer/fall trek? Or was the fact that Lindsey not so subtly rejected DS as co- producer and brought in Mitchell Froom instead to oversee the sessions. Hmmmm...

Or was Stevie finally just completely disheartened by the music industry and the lack of mainstream success In Your Dreams received. Disillusioned forever now that she really has it ingrained in her head that she is done with recording albums. If that's the case, what she fails to realize is that IYD was a big success with her hardcore fan base & therefore a huge catalyst in energizing her fans getting out and going to see her solo shows in '11 & '12. We were getting sick of her GH & covers tours beginning in 05'.

And don't get me started on Lindsey & Stevie's un-parrallel universe regarding what to do with Buckingham Nicks. Yikes. FM really is a land-mine of contradictions and huge ass egos.

Yes. I am really pissed off about the Buckingham Nicks thing. Really.

Stevie - for once - had me all excited & then LB had to ruin it.

Nobody is really interested in buying albums with 14 songs on them anymore.
So why the *bleep* did you put out In Your Dreams then?

GAH!

I want to hear the 8 songs LB did with Mick and John!

I've gotta say, this is the most off the cuff and engaging Q&A I've ever seen with Lindsey. No formulated, regurgitated answers. It feels like we're actually hearing who he is. I really, really hate Stevie isn't game for a Mac album or an EP... but perhaps Lindsey is right. Maybe she just needs some time to write some new material.

Default interesting...

so if you look through this thread as well as the one about 2 new songs, you'll read all these discussions where people were claiming:

1) Lindsey does not want new FM album, same as Stevie.
2) Lindsey would never ever work with the outside producer for FM album and This is 40 thing is just an anomaly which he would never do for FM.

what came out in RS interview today:

1) Lindsey really wants to make a new FM album and he went into great and somewhat deviant lengths to try to get Stevie on board.
2) Lindsey brought in an outside producer for FM album.

of course, i'm reading posts above and everybody seems unhappy with something or other. so as LB says - he'll always be in trouble no matter what he does. i'm sure that by tomorrow we will have bunch of posts saying again, with no leg to stand on, how neither Lindsey and Stevie wants to do a new FM album.

and, what do you know, Lindsey actually wants a whole new BN album, besides just putting out the old one?! so that they would actually have the whole setlist of BN songs to tour with and not just add BN songs as a filler to their FM and solo material. (if you are going to do that, then why do a separate BN tour and not just incorporate BN into FM since it's all flowing into each other anyway in that case?)

and he wants Stevie to crank out at least 2 new FM songs before the start of the tour since there is a lot of time till then!

But he didn't say never, he just doesn't think a tour would work next year - and I agree with him! I'm already going to be cash poor buying tickets for the Mac! I need another year to save up for the BN shindig! Also, I would love love love more BN tracks! If they do a BN tour they shouldn't be playing any Mac songs imo. Now, as far as Waddy and the band, I don't really care. If it's full band, I'm cool with that, but don't you think it would be amazing if he and Stevie did an semi-intimate tour like he did this year? Obviously, they may need some larger theatres since it's the both of them, but arenas aren't necessary. I think the best option would be, like he said, to release the BN cd after the Mac tour, maybe in time for Christmas 2013? Then tour in 2014, even if it's only a 20 date thing. I think the call for tickets to such an event would be too large for 5 dates alone! It's funny, because I saw this interview as entirely hopeful! as far as things to come for both BN and FM!

Yeah, I get what he said - but he's putting the breaks on that just like Stevie did with FM.

It's more waiting. I'm tired of it.

I understand your point, waiting stinks I guess the thing I'm most concerned about is her changing her mind... A lot can happen in a year, hell a week! But, I just don't find it feasible to do 2 tours at once

I'd have a conniption if there was to be a BN tour! I'd have to contain myself somehow I doubt she'd ditch the black, but I think it'd be adorably amazing if she just turned up on stage in some cute jeans and a peasant top Anywho, I think they need to practice one BN song during the FM tour *ahem* Frozen Love *cough*

That Rolling Stone article is a punch in the gut on so many levels. What happened to all of Stevie's umphh from IYD? I really thought she had turned herself around and realized how much time she had wasted with all those tours. I can't believe she completely shot it down.

One reason to do just five shows us to perfect it just enough for a DVD. So, I wouldn't knock the five date solution, because we would get something lasting from it. Also, Stevie just said that 35 shows quickly turn into 50 shows. In The same manner, five shows could turn into 10 or 15; you have to start somewhere. So, I would not reject a five show stint. I just don't think Stevie's at all serious about any sort of BN tour. Michele
