Would you mind if I went into your kitchen and helped myself? I just finished off a bag of bagels earlier this week, and am totally craving on right now. *Homer Simpson drool*

LOL! Go for it! You better be quick though... once I get started on bagels there's no stopping me!

Mixed nuts and strawberries. Yeah, this is my dinner, I don't feel like cooking and I've been craving fruit all day.

Do british people eat duck a lot? I don't think duck is a regular part of people's diet here. Like, at all. I mean, some people eat pate, but otherwise...and after what I learned that they do in France to enlarge a duck's liver, I don't think I'll ever have it. Though it sounds hella 'licious. I know duck is a nice oily meat.

It's kind of a posh thing to eat, and generally it's in a Chinese fashion, á la my sandwich, with some kind of sauce.. plum or whatever. But some people have roast duck on a Sunday - it's not massively popular because if you don't cook it perfectly, it can be just about inedible.. greasy and vile You can get it in restaurants easily enough

Edit: Yeah, duck liver pate is a no-no. Pate de foie gras.. like you say, the way they rear the duck is not on. It's also getting hard to find, happily.

Oh. So I guess it's semi common. I've never heard of a duckmeat sandwich in any of our Chinese restaurants...

Oh, and I'm about to eat cheese and crackers. Can't decide between Ritz and Cheddar or Brie and Rosemary Crostini. I just finished my 1/3 cup of tea with tblsp. of Coconut oil. blergh.

OK, so I guess I had a bit of non-Chinese input there in that I kind of lashed it all together myself from stuff I had lying about But the effect was stunning, albeit totally unrepeatable

"The Miracle Duck Sandwich of '07".

I went with the Brie and Rosemary Crostini. Chompin it up right now.
