I also think it is very interesting that NONE of the vocal IKINW people can even congratulate Stevie on the victory - talk about your sore losers!!!!!

I think you're missing out on half the pop songs ever released then.

And all those people complaining that Lindsey's songs aren't complicated enough, obviously haven't heard the expression "less is more". It makes me sad that still so-called fans don't get Tusk. Back in 1979 one of the great rock journalists, Greil Marcus, expressed his disappointment at the reaction Tusk got saying it was sad proof of the "growing conservatism of the rock n roll mainstream". Unfortunately, 25 years on that still appears to be the case.

That said I certainly don't agree with Dissention's assessment that Stevie didn't take risks on Tusk. I think she did and that's why it contains her best ever material. IMO of course...

what i dont get, is when ppl say "the so called fans "dont get tusk". Did you ever think that they do "GET" it, they just dont like it. He was going for the opposite or rumours, we get that, and he got just that, did he not.

I like that one more than the album version, too, but I just don't get the logic behind Chritopher's statement. If someone has a bunch of short, two minute songs, they're full of themselves. If they have five songs that are epic in length, they're not. I don't understand it.

Note: This is not me saying that I think Stevie is full of herself on Tusk, I don't think that. Only if she had pushed for the ten minute version of Sara.

I did, my dear. Go read it.

I said that if any Stevie song won the game, I'm glad that it was Storms, her best ever song.

I do not think he was saying that for that reason. I think he was commenting on LB's tortured artist so don't bother me persona that tends, right or wrong, to come across.

But, I agree, the short songs are not dispositive of being full of himself, although he clearly has an ego, and lord love him for it!!!!!

How you got that out of his post, I guess I'll never know. Just like I'll never know how someone can squeeze water out of a stone.

I thought it was and, no, I didn't. I'm bummed that Lindsey didn't win, but at least her best song did.

I doubt you'll have "direct congrats" for Bush when he wins.

Again, I was referring to his two posts on the subject. If you can explain how you got that out of his two posts, I'll gladly listen. Here they are:

No. But I didn't state that me and 24 others were voting for the best song. You did that about your 26 friends.

I constantly said that this game was NOT about voting for the best song.

Hey, I irritate you don't I? You give that impression in your posts and PM's that I normally answer but absolutely don't get.

Well, I'm sorry if I do get you on your nerves.

I think it is possible for people to get the concept of Tusk and just not like it, just like there are people who get Rumors (the drama, blah blah blah) and just do not like it. Such is life and people in general

For the record, I LOVE them both!!!!

I have a little friend called the ignore function that I just recently employed. You should try it, Gerald.
