I think most 'Glee' fans are older than those kind of poptarts. |

When I visited an old high school friend 5 years ago in LA, she told me her (teen) sons liked a lot Pink Floyd, Queen, Supertramp, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Rick Wakeman, etc.. They even played her old vynil albums!
But they are kind of bohemian, music, guitar player boys. I think that's the kind of youth that would like or be interested in Fleetwood Mac. Not the screaming giggly girls

No they're not. Because the target audience is exactly those poptarts. My 14 year old sister is one and so are ALL her friends at school. And ALL the friends she's on a youth cabinet with. It's scary.

I find it stranger when it's all these college age kids that are self-described 'Gleeks'. I mean, I don't have a problem if someone enjoys it, but they'll show me their iPods and scrolling down it's almost all 'Glee: the Music' and random singles. Wut.

I think the same sentiments could have been said about "The Dance" concert that aired on MTV back in 1998. This is the same market that they were appealing to back then. What ended up happening? Silver Springs was played on the radio constantly, sales of their albums soared and it gave them enough momentum and support to begin the first of three new tours (which is a great thing for us!). I don't think ANYONE needs to worry too much about Mac concerts being overrun with crazy, screaming 14 year olds. Those kids will download the Glee versions of the songs and be done with it. What I think will happen is the 14 year olds that maybe aren't crazy about Bieber, etc will find this music will begin to broaden their horizons and introduce them to music that isn't overproduced and really classic. That's what happened to me during "The Dance" tour. I wasn't into the bubble gum-pop that was targeted to my age group. Hearing the music and seeing the emotion during the MTV special opened so many doors to me and I finally found something that spoke to me. Attracting a new era of Mac fans that truly just enjoy good music is a real positive thing for the band in my opinion!
